  1. New settings for the minimum time between plane attacks will be tested on the 0.9.2 Public test. The minimum time between attacks for bomber squadrons except Indomitable increased depending on the Tier and specific aircraft carrier; British bombers except Indomitable have their acceleration time and acceleration coefficient right after they drop their bombs increased, meaning they will accelerate to a higher speed directly after a drop. This will make it easier to conduct the next attack. These changes will fix the situation where it was possible to bypass enemy AA defenses by using the temporary invulnerability state directly after the previous attack. Please note that the information in the Development Blog is preliminary and subject to change. Yes, CV nerf incoming. Y'all happy now?

Having played with Günther Lütjens on my Graf Zepplen on the public test server for a number of games, I've progressively noticed that the "Air Superiority" skill is either completely useless or even detrimental to attempt to activate in most situations. Firstly, it is borderline useless to activate in most situations as the increase in plane regeneration speed is small and is required to be active for a long time for you to notice any difference, if at all, while this skill will most likely be activated towards the end of the match, where there isn't enough to time left for it to do anything. To show what I mean here's the difference the skill makes over time by the end of the game with a max plane regeneration build on the Graf Zeppelin: when activated w/ 15 minutes left: +1.41 Attack Planes +1.39 Trop Planes +1.21 Bombers when activated w/ 10 minutes left: +.94 Attack Planes +.93 Trop Planes +.80 Bombers when activated w/ 5 minutes left: +.46 Attack Planes +.46 Trop Planes +.41 Bombers As you can see, even under perfect conditions where the game lasts until the end of the match timer and a max regen build, the difference the skill makes only really amounts to an extra plane when activated unrealistically early in the match and a slim chance of getting an extra plane if activated later than that, if you have the concealment module you'll do even worse here. Obviously, even in this situation, an extra plane is basically useless if you can't make an extra attack run out of it: at best it will eat flak for the rest of the squad for a second or two, most of the time won't make any difference. This also assumes that there's this perfect match out there where you will activate the skill in 5 minutes but don't roll the other team or get rolled, which basically won't happen for most of the games here. Secondly, you need to activate this skill as quickly as possible, but doing that is rather impractical as from testing on the public test server you need either 30 rocket hit ribbons, 30 torpedo hit ribbons, or 30 bomb hit ribbons, not a combination of the 3. This basically means you need to focus on getting 30 rocket hits as soon as possible in the game as getting 30 torpedo or bomb hits won't even be possible within the first 15 minutes, if at all with bomb hits. This kinda makes you use your rockets to at the start of the match and just spamming them into battleships where you can reliably hit all the rockets of your attack instead of the destroyers and cruisers where you would average only 3-5 hits per attack. This basically keeps you from doing things which a cv should be doing like spotting and hunting dd's in the early game so a lot of the time you're actually detrimenting you and your team by going after this skill. With some effort, you can activate it, but most games, I realize I shouldn't even try for the reasons I listed, also losing different types of planes means you can get the plane regen timer started earlier by a couple minutes which will net you more extra planes than the entirety of the commander skill which you were trying to activate. In other words, there's basically no situation where I could have called this skill useful. Some ways of making this better could be: -Getting extra planes back instantly instead of the increased regen (maybe an extra attack run for each squad or more) -allow the ribbon counter to be 30 total hit ribbons (although torpedo and bomb hits should be valued more, also maybe include "shot down by fighter" ribbons because its called Air Superiority and that makes sense) -make the skill be activated multiple times at small increments for the effect to be applied sooner(i.e. 5% per 15 hits for multiple times) -maybe some secondary effect that can you can feel right away like plane speed, hp, consumables, etc to make the skill feel less useless if the situation isn't quite right for it, and overall more rewarding. edit: (I'll just copy this to the top) Also, One thing that I guess I didn't quite emphasize enough was that, in a cv, rotating through the plane types to key to making sure you have enough planes later in the game. As I said, the different plane types have different regen timers that only start when you lose planes, as such you want to get them ticking as soon as possible. This means that all the time that you can spend trying to get rocket hits to get the plane regeneration speed is actually hurting your plane regeneration as delaying these timers by even a minute or two (less than one extra attack run with the rocket planes) will completely negate the effect of the skill, even if you activate it very early as physically possible. You need, at the minimum, two rocket flights to complete this skill. For optimal plane regeneration, you want to rotate rockets->torpedos->bombs; assuming you activate the skill near perfectly with 2 flights only (in testing this almost never happened), this delays the plane regeneration by about 2 minutes which translates to a loss of plane regeneration greater than any gains that you could possibly have in the chart I listed from the skill.

    Please add nobilium back

    WG please add nobilium back, it will make it more challenging. Nobilium can counter The Great Goron and it can be a great support. Nobilium can fight enemy aircraft so other players don't have to worry. In addition The cv can attack the enemies that spawn out of reach for the others.
  5. ICYMI, the next round of public tests on the PT server will have improved rewards. I always play it just for a peek at what's coming up, but sweetening the pot might improve participation.

I don't see any options to change this, but when I open the Game Center to launch World of Warships, the game instance it defaults to is the Public Test server instead of my normal game server (NA), so I have to change that every time to play WoWS. It would be nice to have the option to change the default instance, or at least have the Game Center bring up the last used game instance automatically.

I am not sure if I'm doing something wrong or is it the upgrade in the different server we are now using for v0.7.8 Just after I finished the download, I checked the instructions, did what I was told to do and launched the new version from the new icon. Signed in as instructed, waited a few seconds and the menu came up saying "Error Connecting with The Server. Try Again Later". I did that several times to no avail. That was yesterday. Now it's 10am EST USA and it still won't get passed that server. I never had a problem with the last two versions and don't understand why 0.7.8 will not load. Any ideas ??
