  1. Current Version: Link to original EU thread: Hello, if you're familiar with another game - War Thunder and use the live site there you might recognise me from my skinning work there. In this thread I'll be sharing the skins I make with you guys, I'll try to keep them all updated as fast as possible! I plan on doing as many historical skins as I can, I hope you like them! Individual skins will be inside the spoilers in order to save space, just looks nicer. Primarily based on the EU server I decided that I would share my work with you guys as well, I will try to keep this thread as up-to-date as possible for you guys! To download simply click the download image below the preview picture which will take you to a direct puush download in a new tab. I have included installation instructions inside the zip file. If you like my work that much feel free to follow this topic (button at the very top right) and you will be notified whenever I post something new or update a mod instantly! All Premium ship skins come with a camouflages file that disables the visual effect of all camouflages ingame. The actual bonuses are still active, the camouflage is just invisible. Thanks go out to MasaruKondera of Wo-Era Mods for the script in the Historical Naval Ensign and Signal Flags mod. It should go without saying but I'll say it anyway. If you wish to add any of my skins/mods to a modpack, mod website or whatever please ask me here first if that is ok and if I say no for whatever reason please respect that. Historical Naval Ensign and Signal Flags: Shōkaku-class Aircraft Carrier: Kuma-class Cruiser: Hull A: Hull B: Wickes-class Destroyer: Town-class Destroyer: Dresden-class Cruiser: Hull A: Queen Elizabeth-class Battleship:
  2. This is something I've been wanting to do for a long time. Ever since I got the permanent camouflages for Hatsuharu, Fubuki, and Mogami, I thought Atago's camo stood out due to its colour scheme. This simple mod just changes Atago's camo to match the same green and white colours as the rest of the Japanese camos. This mod also changes New York's permanent camouflage (The one that can be purchased for 1000 doubloons) into Texas' camouflage and alters Texas' look to have MS 21 camo scheme (The solid dark blue one). I plan on adding more here soon but for now, here are the new camos. Updated for 5.15 Note: This mod affects the camouflages only. The ship textures you use will remain the same and will be visible under the camos. The rust free ship textures used under the camouflage is made by Tanz. Check out his skins here. Download To install, just extract the contents of the .zip file into your res_mods folder.
  3. Well looks like not all of the ship is gone. Of course it's not her beautiful floating self but, her flag was returned to Japan!
  4. Dear Wargaming I would like to suggest Nation teamed battles in random battles for historical event anniversaries. For example, during the "Battle of Midway" anniversary, and other historical naval anniversaries, there should be a chance of a random battle where one team consists of ships from only one nation (in this case USA) against ships of another nation (Japan) within same/close-by tiers of ships. This would make for interesting gameplay and we could all learn from the results of the battle and gain insight into historical battles that took place.
  5. Okay guys, due to a post by a certain member I will not mention and the seemingly high interest, I will be reviving the most recently abandoned WWII thread in all it's glory in tabletop tactical format Setting is the world from that thread up to turn 11's moderation. WAR DECLARED BY BRAZIL TO EA (France, UK, Germany and Greece) Brazilian Forces Field Marshall/Supreme Commander of Brazil: Wake_Island Commanders: sargeantgamer European Alliance Forces: United Kingdom Field Marshall/Supreme Commander: andypandy1996 SirDerpofCamelot Battlesarge France Field Marshall/Supreme Commander: GeneralPatton1000 Germany/Vereint Deutsch Republik Field Marshall/Supreme Commander: xS_DEADLY_Sx - pade4utoday Greece/The 3rd Hellenic Republic Field Marshall/Supreme Commander: Appollosnos - Lord_TacoBall Currently Not Involved: China: mr3awsome Russia: Maus123 Japan: PvtZetacius USA: Windhover118 Italy: lordvader5999 Romania: sargeantgamer All available manpower/machines are as listed of end of turn 11 and start of turn 12, again referring back to the gameplay thread linked above Above listed as Field Marshall/Supreme Commanders are the primary leaders/people you'd refer to before playing the game, confirmed players who are doing nothing can also play as Generals for opposing forces, and for commanding troops under AFK people I will give you command until they come back and announce changes and whatnot. Please only post if you are interested in playing
  6. I just wanted to shout out to the Wargaming Developers who work on the ship detailing... Since I only live a few hours drive from the USS North Carolina, and visit a few times a year, it has rapidly become one of my favorite ships in the game. So, I was pretty excited when WG announced the NoCal would be getting a permanent camo.. And sure enough, it's the Measure 32 pattern from 1944 that she wears today! Thank you Wargaming, Thank you. It's the little details in this game that make me happy.. 1944 Present Day (taken in Feb 2016) WOWS in Port
  7. Detailed blueprints for the Cleveland Class USS Miami and the New Orleans class USS Astoria. Found them on an old hard drive I haven't used in years, and really don't know from where I downloaded them. Here's a link to a sample image, download the complete sets, each as their own PDF. *EDIT* I also found the Langley, the Ranger, and the Battleship New Jersey. USS New Jersey, BB62 USS Langley CV2 USS Ranger CV4 USS Astoria CA34 USS Miami CL89
  8. As to the flags on what ever nation's ship you would be playing at the moment, will it be put into the game that for WW1 ships you can take a WW1 flag instead of WW2 era flags? Just wondering.
  9. According to muliple sources and some research on the Fubuki, her top speed is wrong. It's slated as 35.8kts maximum on the World of Warships wiki (and in the game), yet I've read it as 38kts everywhere else. Correct the Fubuki's top speed, without the boost or flags, to the real-world & accurate 38kts.
  10. I'm looking to get certain ships modelled, mostly for history-nerd reasons. What I'm looking for are basically hull numbers and one image added to the stock paint schemes. 1. The USS Reuben James (DD-245) Clemson-class destroyer, first US Warship sunk in WWII and the subject of a Woody Guthrie song I can't seem to get out of my head. USS Reuben James, rear quarter. USS Reuben James, Bow 2. USS Kidd (DD-661) Fletcher-class destroyer, currently a museum ship in my hometown of Baton Rouge, LA. Note the ten-foot-tall Pirate painted on the forward funnel. It's got character. USS Kidd (Note the small hull numbers on the bow) USS Kidd stern (Hull numbers and name) USS Kidd forward funnel (ARRRR) Adding hull numbers and lettering doesn't really seem difficult (In theory) - If I were to attempt it myself, would I need any special programs to alter the stock skins?
  11. THIS THREAD WILL NO LONGER BE UPDATED. ALL UPDATES WILL BE IN THE NEW MODS SECTION THREAD HERE TotenKampf's Custom and Historical Ensigns and Flags Requests and feedback welcomed. The aim of these small mods is to provide sharper colours used for the Ensigns flown by the selective nations as well as providing the historically correct ensign flown. Due to the way the file operates. The Russian/Soviet Navies now changes Ensign approprately, however the Hochseeflotte and Kriegsmarine respectively do not. Your choice in download is more for a preference for the German Ensign to be that of der Kaiser, or der Furher. Current plan is to add a modern Ensign pack to replace all Ensigns with the correct current one flown by these nations; as well as novelty flags for holiday's. All national ensigns in both the WW1 and WW2 Historical Packs WW1 Historical Germany WW2 Historical Germany 1776 War of Independence Custom Ensigns
  12. Hello People. I have created this thread with the intent for all those that want a historical feel into their ships- a place where recreations of historical (and by extension, scale models) paint schemes are uploaded for all to enjoy, as well as guides/references and trivia on how to paint them. This OP will be updated once things become better. Disclaimer: if you had been in WoT for a certain amount of time, i am a known maker of anime-themed skins. If you followed me into the other game, you would know me as an anime-themed, historical and blank skin provider. Now I'm going to focus on historical just because- with a little anime on and off.
  13. I just though something up~ Maybe their could be Historical missions that involve multiplayer battles where the HMS Hood and GBS Bismarck get voted too players and the rest of the ships are ships or planes that were present that day I would love too see a HMS Hood VS GBS Bismarck happen ingame!
  14. Title pretty much says it. Are the battleships starting at Dreadnought with pre-director fire control, and progressing to say Montana firing using analog computing with radar direction and ranging? If so there is quite a good deal of discussion that might be useful input for the DEVs (I hope) and interesting to the assembled regarding the very large number of ships in the 1905 to 1919 range that I think deserves it's own section. Thanks.
