    Detonation Frequency

    Over the past few months, particularly after 8.6 patch, I have noticed a large increase in the frequency of detonations. Before, it used to be one every few dozen matches. Now, I've been getting at least 3 per day. And it's not like my play time has increased or anything. It's not even uncommon anymore for there to be more than one detonation on a single team. While I absolutely hate detonations as a mechanic because they serve no purpose and require no skill at all, I won't get into that. I just want to know if WG has secretly tweaked something to increase the frequency of detonations. Especially on battleships. I've been getting detonated far more in Musashi than in Chung Mu without running the detonation flag.
  2. So detonations have been a thorn in the side of many players over the years. Many of us have wondered why the inclusion of such a semi random rng mechanic into the game, but WarGaming has insisted on keeping it in the game randomly ruining people's games. I got to wondering last night. Pretty much every single crazy random derpy game mode that I can think of has had detonations disabled,halloween events, savage battles to name a couple. What the world, weegee??? You put in a random game mechanic a good chunk of the player base despises and then you leave it out of the most random game modes there are and leave it in the most competitive game modes like ranked, clan battles, while having it in random and training room as well. This is a load of illogical hogwash. Whats the reasoning here??
  3. I know its been argued, I know its been talked about. I know the devs have commented on it. Quite frankly? I don't give a damn. Detonations are simply not fun to deal with. For that reason alone they should be removed. You're cheated from a fight for various reasons, you're cheated out of flags, and camoflauge. Potentially cheated out of real money too if you spent money on it. You're cheated out of potential Exp, and silver, especially if it was on your first win daily.. 2 real examples of just tonight. Game 1) I detonated someone on the enemy team, he said it was his second detonation on his DD 2 games in a row. He was quite clearly pissed. Only 1 shell of my BB hit him, and it was a stray, that cheated him out of alot of potential exp, especially since it was his first win and it happened right at the start of the game. Game 2) Literally the next game, playing in my BB. I pushed forward, rallied my team, was doing great, was a great team player, CV cross drops me half way through the game, 1 torpedo detonates my full health BB. (All others missed) ----------------------- There quite literally is no argument to keep it. It doesn't matter if you say "but it happens so rarely" I don't care if it happens even once, that's once too many in a game like this. Why is a mechanic that literally cheats players out of real money, camo, flags, credits, and exp, literally everything a player has to look forward too earning being ripped out of that players hands simply because he decided to press Play? I'm not going to sugar coat it. Its a disgusting, toxic, and pure A hole mechanic by the developers to say the least. It should be removed purely because it's unfun, and cheats a player out of so much potential. Plain and simple, regardless of how balanced you may or may not think it is, or how rare it happens.
  4. Hi WG I would like to see an improvement in the graphics for devastating strikes and detonations as I think they would improve the game visually and make it more fun... There needs to be a brighter flash that can be seen by everyone in LOS Followed by a more spectacular explosion which needs to be seen by everyone in LOS and Heard even when in full zoom mode At the end there needs to be a mushroom cloud We need incoming salvo sounds to be louder/more distinct Bacon is good for you and stop deleting my threads
  5. Today I am going to showcase my experience in the Tier 8 Royal Navy Destroyer, the Lightning. Overall a decent ship, but my experience in it was "something different" compaired to other ships I have played.

    Alabama Detonation

    My Alabama was detonated by a Yamato while still near full health and while at a steep angle. Do I need to explain how frustrating it is to loose all of your remaining 50K health to a salvo taken to the bow of the ship in a roulette-based RNG assassination? Now, I know a Yamato against anything isn't the best example of this, but I seriously think this mechanic needs to be looked at for balance reasons. And I know you can just use the flags... if you have them. I did not. This isn't really a post for me to rant, but more for me to point out that detonations, especially early game, can vastly negatively impact the outcome of the match and it punishes players who are not doing anything technically wrong. It also adds a variable of total chance into who wins when, in my opinion, skill should be the deciding factor.
