  1. This video is a tour of one of the MK VI Patrol Boat prototypes tested out of Qatar. The Ukrainian Navy is going to slated to receive some too.
  2. I should preface that this is a bad coincidence that someone else posted a similar thread, ehehehehe, but I can't change that. They are not related in any way. Before I start of I would like to address two points: 1. The purpose of all this. Proposing a line split merely for the sake of proposing a line split is a waste of time. I have indeed a reasoning for why I think the German Destroyers in particular deserve a line split. And that reasoning is in regard to the progression when you grind up the line. If we look at main battery, their performance and how they affect your playstyle and potential captain builds, we’ll see that the German Destroyers are probably the least consistent line. We have a ship with acceptable gun power with V-140, which you would be a fool to not use, and where spending a few points on BFT would not be a waste. Then we move to T-22, and suddenly your guns are pathetic for the Tier. Ernst Gaede leaves us the option of either picking the 128mm guns (which would make her an inferior gunboat) or going for the hard hitting 150s. Latter would exclude the usage of BFT or AFT completely. Leberecht Maass suddenly has a decent gun performance with her 128s, and picking up BFT is a viable option. Z-23 however does not tolerate BFT with her 150s (unless you want to have a gunpower that is on T6 levels…). And moving onto Z-46 you can magically use your guns with BFT again. This inconsistency is one of the reasons why I am proposing a line split between “normal” Destroyers and Destroyers that were armed with 150mm guns. Also, and that is a bonus, it would allow players who enjoy the playstyle that the 150mm guns allow to progress to higher Tiers than T8. And of course ship lines are after all not infinite. WarGaming will eventually reach a point where they need to look for new lines. An alternative German DD line is not the craziest option, which I shall address in my second point. I will be doing a similar post to this, where I will be going over potential premium candidates and how they could be implemented. German Destroyers are so far a rather thin line in terms of Premiums, so there is a lot of potential for WG here to gain some money. 2. A question that is always interesting: How much fantasy? And the answer is rather simple. No fantasy at all. The majority of new ships would be some that actually existed and saw service, with only a few ships being paper designs. I will add history sections for all ships to give an overview, and to perhaps clarify why the ship is where I placed it. So even if you don’t like German DDs in-game, you can maybe take some history lessons here :D For a quick TL;DR:, I have placed it all in a nice table here for a quick overview. I took the liberty of copying phoenix_jz’s scheme for determining if a ship was real or not. Green: Completed, and saw service Purple: Construction started, but was not completed Blue: Existed only in blueprints and/or drawings Orange: Made up design, or mixing various aspects of several designs Gotta love it when no fictional designs are needed… Of the ships I added, one is a paper ship, two ships entered construction but weren’t completed and four real ships. That is an acceptable quota if you ask me. The idea behind this is that the split between the lines starts at Tier 4. The Destroyers will split into two lines with each having it’s own character. I shall elaborate those characters before I start off: Standard Line: The standard line, carrying 128mm guns, will be focused around capture points. For that purpose they will have access to the Hydroacoustic Search consumable and decent stealth. Their Torpedoes, while being shorter ranged than the other line, will reload faster to allow for a more rewarding close up playstyle. The turret traverse will also be noticeably improved over the other line, as will be the Concealment. Alternative Line: The 150mm armed line is more focused around the idea of being support ships, rather than up-close knife-fighters. To give the armament teeth against larger units the HE shells will receive ¼ penetration, and a longer ranged Torpedo armament. The main battery will be focused around Alpha Strike, with the AP posing a threat to a number of Cruisers while also being able to chunk broadside Battleships for unhealthy amounts of damage on a regular basis. Note that this line will not carry the Hydroacoustic Search consumable, and have mediocre stealth. Note, unless it’s specifically stated so, those numbers are using the best ship upgrades available. The stats I give are mainly for the purpose of getting an idea of how these ships would perform. They are by no means perfect. Tier 4 Standard line: V-170 Before you ruin your eyes trying to find what I changed here, I didn’t touch a single stat. V-170 is currently performing well within the norm, and there is zero reason to change her into either direction. Her stats are here to allow for a comparison with her T4 counterpart. Status: Entered Construction, but not completed History: Survivability: Hit Points: 10,300 Main Armament: 4x1 105mm/45 Firing range: 9.1km Reload: 4s HE Alpha: 1,200 Fire chance: 5% AP Alpha: 2,300 Muzzle velocity: 715 m/s 180° Traverse: 18s Torpedo Armament: 2x2 and 2x1 50cm Firing Range: 7km Reload: 42s Damage: 10,600 Speed: 54kn Visibility: 1km AntiAircraftArmament: B-Hull: 2x1 20mm Flak38 Maneuverability: Top Speed: 35.5kn Rudder Shift: 2.7s Turning Radius: 500m Concealment: Surface Detection: 6.3km Air Detection: 2.9km Minimum Detection: 5.5km Consumables: Standard Destroyer Damage Control with 60s (40s when using the Premium version) cooldown and 5s duration Default Speed Boost, providing a 8% boost for 120s with a 180s (120s) cooldown and 2 (3) charges German Smoke Generator, operating for 20s with a 240s (160s) cooldown and 2 (3) charges. Smoke cloud last for 53s Tier 4 Alternative Line: S-113 Status: Real History: The German Navy always lacked Light Cruisers, which would act as scouts for the main fleet. In an effort to reduce this lack during WW1 a number of Destroyers were designed to be carrying 150mm guns with less Torpedoes so that in case they would engage British Scouts, they would be capable of biting back to a degree. This also explains the turret arrangement, which clearly encouraged fighting while disengaging. This one ship in particular was not finished in time for WW1, but the vessel was written over to France as a war price and would see service under the French flag. Survivability: Hit Points: 11,600 Normal displacement would already throw her to 12,700 hitpoints (full displacement would be 14,300). For the sake of protecting seals I will have to tone it down a lil’ bit. Main Armament: 4x1 150mm/45 Firing range: 9.4km Reload: 10s HE Alpha: 1,800 Fire chance: 10% AP Alpha: 3,700 Muzzle velocity: 680 m/s 180° Traverse: 25.7s Torpedo Armament: 2x2 60cm Firing Range: 7km Reload: 52s Damage: 12,300 Speed: 53kn Visibility: 1,3km AntiAircraftArmament: Yeah, no. Smoke cloud last for 53s Tier 5 Standard Line: T-22 T-22 is going to remain the T5 German DD. Given her current mediocre performance (and that is putting it lightly), I will change her consumables a tad bit to bring her in line with the intended playstyle for this half of the Tech Tree. Other than that, expect no changes. Status: Real History: The Torpedoboat 1939 was a class that represented a drastic change to earlier designs. Whereas previous designs intended the ships to be fully focused around Torpedo attacks, the TB 1939 was a ship that would carry both a strong Torpedo armament as well as main battery, while making these ships usable for escort duties. The machinery and seaworthiness, in contrast to earlier Torpedoboats and Destroyers, was noted to be excellent and the design was overall regarded as a success. Survivability: Hit Points: 11,300 Main Armament: 4x1 105mm/45 Firing range: 10km Reload: 4s HE Alpha: 1,200 Fire chance: 5% AP Alpha: 2,200 Muzzle velocity: 780 m/s 180° Traverse: 17.14s Torpedo Armament: 2x3 533mm Firing Range: 7.5km Reload: 68s Damage: 13,700 Speed: 62kn Visibility: 1.3km AntiAircraftArmament: A-Hull: 4x1 105mm/45 2x2 37mm Flakzwilling 30 1x4 20mm Flakvierling38 2x1 20mm Flak38 B-Hull: 4x1 105mm/45 2x2 37mm M42 1x4 20mm Flakvierling38 4x2 20mm Flak38 Maneuverability: Top Speed: 34.5kn Rudder Shift: 2.9s Turning Radius: 540m Concealment: Surface Detection: 6.5km Air Detection: 3km Minimum Detection: 5.7km Consumables: Standard Destroyer Damage Control with 60s (40s when using the Premium version) cooldown and 5s duration Default Speed Boost, providing a 8% boost for 120s with a 180s (120s) cooldown and 2 (3) charges German Smoke Generator, operating for 20s with a 240s (160s) cooldown and 2 (3) charges. Smoke cloud last for 57s Hydroacoustic Search, operating for 100s and spotting ships within 4km, and Torpedoes within 3km. 180s (120s) cooldown and 2 (3) charges. Tier 5 Alternative Line: Z-8 Bruno Heinemann Status: Real History: This ship is from the same class as the already in-game Leberecht Maass, however Z-8 was unique as in that she was used as a test bed for larger caliber guns on Destroyers. In her initial state she did not carry the five single mounted 128s like her sisters, but instead carried four 150mm guns in single mounts. Two were mounted in front of the bridge in superfiring positions, a third one was behind the funnels facing forward and the final mount was rear-facing behind the aft superstructure. The location where the fourth gun mount would be on other Destroyers remained empty. Survivability: Hitpoints: 14,200 That’s a decent amount of hp for a T5 DD, in fact more than her competition. But she is also the largest among them, and I altered the hp formula a bit to get to that value, otherwise we would be looking at hp values where even T7s get jealous. I hope that won’t stub too many toes here. Main Armament: 4x1 150mm/45 Firing range: 10.5km Reload: 10s HE Alpha: 1,800 Fire chance: 10% AP Alpha: 3,700 Muzzle velocity: 680 m/s 180° Traverse: 25.7s I reused several stats from Karlsruhe, since the guns are somewhat similar. So one can expect slow shells and high damaging salvos, with a slow reload and sloooow traverse for a DD. Torpedo Armament: 2x4 533mm Firing Range: 8km Reload: 105s Damage: 13,700 Speed: 62kn Visibility: 1.3km Those are the exact same damage, speed and visibility values as those found on T-22. I have extended the range and made the reload longer, and Z-8 will have one additional Torpedo per launcher and .5km more range. The Torpedoes will be one of her biggest strengths. AntiAircraftArmament: A-Hull: 2x2 37mm Flakzwilling 30 6x1 20mm Flak38 B-Hull: 2x1 37mm M42 6x2 20mm Flak38 If those numbers look poor… that’s because they are. Historically Z-8 didn’t see any AA-improvements while carrying the 150mm guns. But because every other German DD from T4 and higher sees some AA upgrades, I decided to give some minor upgrades here as well for the sake of consistency. It’s not gonna change the fact that her AA will be poor. It’s just less poor. Maneuverability: Top Speed: 36kn Rudder Shift: 4.2s Turning circle: 640m Fairly uninspiring, she is a Maass hull at T7, so I didn’t alter much aside from her speed which I dropped by one knot to not make her too excessive. Concealment: Surface Detection: 7.74km Air Detection: 4.02km Minimum Detection: 6.76km If those values look like I just copied them from Maass, that’s because I did just that. Her concealment is not good by any means, and the majority of T5 Destroyers will be able to outspot her. But given her high hitpool and strong Torpedo armament, something had to suck in order to keep her in line. It’s not the end of worlds, but players will feel the lacking concealment. Consumables: Standard Destroyer Damage Control with 60s (40s when using the Premium version) cooldown and 5s duration Default Speed Boost, providing a 8% boost for 120s with a 180s (120s) cooldown and 2 (3) charges German Smoke Generator, operating for 20s with a 240s (160s) cooldown and 2 (3) charges. Smoke cloud last for 57s Tier 6 Standard Line: Z-51 Status: Entered Construction, but not completed History: This one is an interesting vessel. Basically the German command realized that the cruising ranges of their Destroyers was inadequate, which was further enhanced by issues with the machinery regarding the reliability and requirements for highly trained personnel. So a Destroyer was laid down which was supposed to serve as a test bed for Diesel propulsion, which showed promising results on the Deutschland class Cruisers and was also part of the propulsion of the K-class, Leipzig and Nürnberg, on which it also paid off. That is how Z-51 came to life, however due to being a rather late war ship, she was subject to air attacks as well as material shortages, and bomb hits sealed her fate before she was even completed Survivability: Hit Points: 15,700 Being designed to displace 2720 tons, the formula spits this amount of hitpoints out. It fits well within the hp range one would expect of a T6, so yay. Main Armament: 4x1 128mm/45 Firing range: Reload: 4s HE Alpha: 1,500 Fire chance: 6% AP Alpha: 3,000 Muzzle velocity: 830 m/s 180° Traverse: 22.5s I have shortened the reload of the main guns to 4s, like it is standard with any other German 128mm main gun. This is justified by the performance of the Torpedoes, which will unfortunately take a rather hard hit. I will also touch the concealment a bit to hopefully compensate for this loss of striking power. Torpedo Armament: 2x3 533mm Firing Range: 8km Reload: 68s Damage: 13,700 Speed: 65kn Visibility: 1.3km AntiAircraftArmament: A-Hull: 2x2 37mm Flakzwilling 30 5x1 20mm Flak38 B-Hull: 4x2 37mm M42 3x4 Flakvierling 38 Maneuverability: Top Speed: 36kn Rudder Shift: 3.5s Turning Radius: 650m Concealment: Surface Detection: 7km Air Detection: 4.1km Minimum Detection: 6.1km Consumables: Standard Destroyer Damage Control with 60s (40s when using the Premium version) cooldown and 5s duration Default Speed Boost, providing a 8% boost for 120s with a 180s (120s) cooldown and 2 (3) charges German Smoke Generator, operating for 20s with a 240s (160s) cooldown and 2 (3) charges. Smoke cloud last for 61s Hydroacoustic Search, operating for 100s and spotting ships within 4km, and Torpedoes within 3km. 180s (120s) cooldown and 2 (3) charges. Tier 6 Alternative Line: Ernst Gaede Status: Paper History: When Germany started developing a new class of Destroyers, several private dockyards had the opportunity to bring forth their own designs. One of these proposed designs was submitted by the Vulkan AG Stettin, but as design requirements changed the design was judged to be insufficient and that marked the end of the ship we know as Gaede. Survivability: Hitpoints: 16,500 That is Gaede’s current value. I consider Gaede to be well balanced in her current state, so there is no reason to make any unnecessary changes. Main Armament: 4x1 150mm/48 Firing range: 10.9km Reload: 7.5s HE Alpha: 2,200 Fire chance: 12% AP Alpha: 3,700 Muzzle velocity: 835 m/s 180° Traverse: 22.5s Same firepower as Gaede has atm, only thing that changed is that there is no longer an option to mount 128mm guns, which given the purpose of this entire thread makes sense. Torpedo Armament: 2x4 533mm Firing Range: 8.5km Reload: 105s Damage: 13,700 Speed: 65kn Visibility: 1.3km Similar stats to what Gaede currently carries, except that 15s reload time have been added for .5km additional range. AntiAircraftArmament: A-Hull: 2x2 37mm Flakzwilling 30 8x1 20mm Flak38 B-Hull: 2x1 37mm M42 4x4 20mm Flakvierling 38 4x1 20mm Flak38 Yep, again I reused the stats from the current Gaede. Never touch a running system~ Maneuverability: Top Speed: 36kn Rudder Shift: 4s Turning Radius: 690m Again, copied directly from Gaede in the client. Concealment: Surface Detection: 7.96 Air Detection: 4.29 Minimum Detection: 6.95km Given how Gaede received a direct buff in her main armament by receiving ¼ penetration for her HE shells, I saw it necessary to increase her detection by 400m. This would also follow the intended playstyle for these ships Consumables: Standard Destroyer Damage Control with 60s (40s when using the Premium version) cooldown and 5s duration Default Speed Boost, providing a 8% boost for 120s with a 180s (120s) cooldown and 2 (3) charges German Smoke Generator, operating for 20s with a 240s (160s) cooldown and 2 (3) charges. Smoke cloud last for 61s Tier 7 Standard Line: Z-1 Leberecht Maass Like V-170, I will not be changing any stats here. Z-1 is well balanced, and any unnecessary changes would be foolish. Status: Real History: The design of the 1934 class was a very unfortunate one. Following the lack of any Destroyer shipbuilding for a rather long time, Germany attempted to build a Destroyer which would at least be equal, if not superior to the current international counterparts. What resulted was a Destroyer which just like many foreign colleagues was topheavy, her machinery was particularly bad due to reliability issues (it was noted that operating her machinery for longer than 60hrs was dangerous for both crew and ship) and her cruising range left much to be desired. Survivability: Hit Points: 17,500 Main Armament: 5x1 128mm Firing range: 10.9km Reload: 4s HE Alpha: 1,500 Fire chance: 6% AP Alpha: 3,000 Muzzle velocity: 830 m/s 180° Traverse: 22.5s Torpedo Armament: 2x4 533mm Firing Range: 8.5km Reload: 90s Damage: 14,400 Speed: 65kn Visibility: 1.3km AntiAircraftArmament: A-Hull: 2x2 37mm Flakzwilling 30 8x1 20mm Flak38 B-Hull: 4x2 37mm M42 1x4 20mm Flakvierling 38 6x1 20mm Flak38 Maneuverability: Top Speed: 37kn Rudder Shift: 4.2s Turning Radius: 640m Concealment: Surface Detection: 7.7km Air Detection: 4km Minimum Detection: 6.7km Consumables: Standard Destroyer Damage Control with 60s (40s when using the Premium version) cooldown and 5s duration Default Speed Boost, providing a 8% boost for 120s with a 180s (120s) cooldown and 2 (3) charges German Smoke Generator, operating for 20s with a 240s (160s) cooldown and 2 (3) charges. Smoke cloud last for 65s Hydroacoustic Search, operating for 100s and spotting ships within 4km, and Torpedoes within 3km. 180s (120s) cooldown and 2 (3) charges. Tier 7 Alternative Line: Z-28 Status: Real History: We all probably know Z-23, and with her the basic idea behind the 1936 A class. Z-28 was meant to be a leader for Destroyer squadrons, and thus received additional command facilities on her rear superstructure. This resulted in the reduction of firepower by 20% compared to her sistership, carrying two pairs of superfiring 150m guns on each end of the ship. This led to Z-28 being less bow-heavy than her classmates, due to less weight being placed on her foreship. Survivability: Hit Points: 18,200 This is slightly less than Z-23’s hitpool, I once again altered the value a bit to not make it too excessive. I am aware of Z-39’s existence at the same Tier, and her hitpoints, but we need to keep the hp powercreep somewhat in check (although 18,200 is quite a lot for T7) Main Armament: 4x1 150mm/48 Firing range: 11.5km Reload: 6.7s HE Alpha: 2,200 Fire chance: 12% AP Alpha: 3,700 Muzzle velocity: 835 m/s 180° Traverse: 22.5s These are the gunnery stats taken from Z-23, although the range has been a bit extended. Torpedo Armament: 2x4 533mm Firing Range: 9km Reload: 105s Damage: 14,400 Speed: 65kn Visibility: 1.3km This follows the trend I made with the Torpedoes of the Alt Line, nothing spectacular here. AntiAircraftArmament: A-Hull: 2x2 37mm Flakzwilling 30 5x1 Flak38 B-Hull: 2x2 + 6x1 37mm M42 1x4 20mm Flakvierling38 2x2 + 1x1 20mm Flak38 The AA armament is what was in the end installed on Z-28, it looked like this: Maneuverability: Top Speed: 37kn Rudder Shift: 4.5s Turning Radius: 680m Concealment: Surface Detection: 8.2km Air Detection: 4.5km Minimum Detection: 7.2km Again, I worsened the detection to balance out the increased striking potential of these ships. If you fear that Z-28 would render Z-39 irrelevant, you are mistaken. Other T7 DDs can and will outspot Z-28. Smoke cloud last for 65s Tier 8 Standard Line: Z-35 Status: Real History: Z-35 was a Destroyer of the somewhat unknown 1936 B Type, a small group of follow-up developments of the 1936 A type. Given the issues that were caused by 15cm armament on Destroyers, which were bad seaworthiness and crews complaining about the shells being too heavy to be hand loaded in a prolonged battle, a number of 1936 A ships were redesigned to return to the 128mm single mounted guns. Survivability: Hit Points: 19,300 With 3542 tons displacement that is what you get in terms of hitpoints. This fits well into T8 and follows the trend that German DDs have so far. Main Armament: 5x1 128mm Firing range: 10.9km Reload: 4s HE Alpha: 1,500 Fire chance: 6% AP Alpha: 3,000 Muzzle velocity: 830 m/s 180° Traverse: 22.5s Torpedo Armament: 2x4 533mm Firing Range: 9.5km Reload: 90s Damage: 14,400 Speed: 66kn Visibility: 1.4km AntiAircraftArmament: A-Hull: 2x2 37mm Flakzwilling 30 1x4 20mm Flakvierling 38 4x1 20mm Flak38 B-Hull: 4x2 37mm M42 2x1 37mm M42 1x4 20mm Flakvierling 38 4x2 20mm Flak38 1x1 20mm Flak38 None of the 1936 B Types ever received the AA refit that most other German DDs received near the end of 1944, so I had to make these numbers up. Maneuverability: Top Speed: 37kn Rudder Shift: 4.2s Turning Radius: 680m Concealment: Surface Detection: 7.9km Air Detection: 4.4km Minimum Detection: 6.2km Consumables: Standard Destroyer Damage Control with 60s (40s when using the Premium version) cooldown and 5s duration Default Speed Boost, providing a 8% boost for 120s with a 180s (120s) cooldown and 2 (3) charges German Smoke Generator, operating for 20s with a 240s (160s) cooldown and 2 (3) charges. Smoke cloud last for 69s Hydroacoustic Search, operating for 100s and spotting ships within 5km, and Torpedoes within 3.5km. 180s (120s) cooldown and 2 (3) charges. Tier 8 Alternative Line: Z-23 Status: Real History: The 1936 A class was a continuation of the idea that Destroyers could be equipped with 150mm guns to make them usable scout units, capable of outgunning Destroyers while holding up against larger units. To mount such guns the hull was enlarged, and in total five guns were planned to come on-board. Two would be in an armored twin turret on the forward section, while three were in open single mountings around the aft superstructure. As it turned out, even without the heavy twin turret these ships were very bowheavy which got worse when the turret was installed, with water entering the turret and disabling it. Later modifications would slightly address these issues, however they were never fully solved. The machinery was improved over previous Destroyers, making them less prone to breakdowns while a twin rudder vastly improved maneuverability. Status: Entered Construction, but not completed History: These ships were the continuation of the 1936 B Mob, wielding a new 128mm twin turret with the elevation required to combat planes, and a new Fire Control unit was to be mounted above the rear turrets which would also be capable of radar guided fire against sea and air units. Other than that, little changes were made over the 1936 B Mob. Five ships were laid down, but due to bombing raids and material shortage none would be completed. Tier 9 Alternative Line: Zerstörer 1938 A/Ac Here we finally get to the meaty part :D Probably the most interesting part of this proposal are the higher Tier 150mm armed DDs. And that is not without reason. With their caliber they still are among the more unique vessels in WoWs. So here we go, the Tier 9. Status: Paper History: Hardly a surprise that such a design was only on paper. The command seeked for a Destroyer that could operate on the Atlantic for longer periods of time, and thus it became obvious that such a ship would have to use Diesel propulsion to at least some degree. Hence why this class adapted a machinery design similar to that of Leipzig and Nürnberg, with two shafts being powered by conventional steam while a central shaft would receive its horsepower from a Diesel propulsion unit. This obviously made the ships rather large, and they were quickly deemed too impractical for what they offered and the next design (which you’ll see soon enough) took over. Survivability: Hit Points: 23,500 This ship would have a lot of hitpoints with the listed max tonnage of 4,900 tons. 25,400 to be precise. I decided to tone it down a little bit because otherwise it would be way over the top. However, if so needed the hp can always be tweaked up a bit. Main Armament: 3x2 150mm/48 Firing range: 12.3km Reload: 6.7s HE Alpha: 2,200 Fire chance: 12% AP Alpha: 3,700 Muzzle velocity: 835 m/s 180° Traverse: 22.5s Secondary Armament: 1x2 88mm/76 Firing range: 5km Reload: 4s HE Alpha: 1,000 Fire chance: 4% Muzzle velocity: 950 m/s Do you smell what I smell? I smell close quarters memes. On a more serious note, those won’t be of much use unless they set a fire. Torpedo Armament: 2x4 533mm Firing Range: 11km Reload: 105s Damage: 14,400 Speed: 67kn Visibility: 1.4km AntiAircraftArmament: A-Hull: 1x2 88mm/76 2x2 37mm Flakzwilling 30 1x4 20mm Flakvierling 38 4x1 20mm Flak38 B-Hull: 1x2 88mm/76 6x2 37mm M42 2x4 20mm Flakvierling 38 I took some liberties at this point, since no AA modernizations were planned (obviously). Those numbers can easily be increased or reduced, depending on what is desired. But for what is needed, they should suffice. Maneuverability: Top Speed: 37.5kn Rudder Shift: 5.8s Turning Radius: 780m As one would expect, this ship handles noticeably worse than the preceding ships. Concealment: Surface Detection: 9.2km Air Detection: 5.2km Minimum Detection: 7.2km No surprise either that the detection would suffer. But it had to, otherwise this ship would run risk of jumping DDs with it’s immense hitpool and still formidable firepower. Smoke cloud last for 73s Tier 10 Standard Line: Z-52 No stat changes were applied for this ship. Status: Entered Construction, but not completed History: The 1944 type Destroyers were supposed to solve all the issues with the past Destroyer classes. Namely the problematic machinery and the questionable seaworthiness were targeted, and solutions proposed. The machinery was meant to be purely running on Diesel, which would increase the cruising range, lower the maintenance requirements and improve reliability. Being noticeably larger than previous Destroyers, seaworthiness was hoped to be improved. Just like the 1936 C Mob the new 128mm twin turrets were to be used, and it was planned to install the new 55mm AA gun while dropping all short range AA armament. Fire control was further improved with a second radar unit. A few ships were laid down, but just like the 1936 C Mob and many more continuous air attacks and material shortage kept these ships from being completed. Survivability: Hit Points: 20,300 Main Armament: 3x2 128mm/45 Firing range: 12.1km Reload: 4s HE Alpha: 1,500 Fire chance: 7% AP Alpha: 3,000 Muzzle velocity: 830 m/s 180° Traverse: 10s Torpedo Armament: 2x4 533mm Firing Range: 10.5km Reload: 90s Damage: 14,400 Speed: 69kn Visibility: 1.4km AntiAircraftArmament: 3x2 128mm/45 3x1 55mm/77 Gerät 58 7x2 37mm M42 Maneuverability: Top Speed: 37.5kn Rudder Shift: 4.5s Turning Radius: 700m Concealment: Surface Detection: 7.74km Air Detection: 3.72km Minimum Detection: 6.08km Consumables: Standard Destroyer Damage Control with 60s (40s when using the Premium version) cooldown and 5s duration Default Speed Boost, providing a 8% boost for 120s with a 180s (120s) cooldown and 2 (3) charges German Smoke Generator, operating for 20s with a 240s (160s) cooldown and 2 (3) charges. Smoke cloud last for 77s Hydroacoustic Search, operating for 120s and spotting ships within 6km, and Torpedoes within 4km. 180s (120s) cooldown and 2 (3) charges. Tier 10 Alternative Line: SP-1 Status: Entered Construction, but not completed History: Quite a surprise that this ship was laid down, surprised me as well if I am honest here. These ships were a development from the 1938 A/Ac design, aiming to make these ships more durable, adding offensive capabilities and most importantly adding more defensive armament against aircraft. In early 1941 the first of the class, Spähkreuzer-1 (scout cruiser 1), was laid down. In mid-1942 her construction was halted, and in 1943 her hull broken up for scrap. Further development then went into the M-class. Survivability: Hit Points: 27,500 If I was to go by her tonnage, she’d be sitting on 29,900 hitpoints. That’s what 5900 tons of displacement result in. Even toned down her hitpoints are rather hefty, but she’ll pay for those later on. Now, historically she had splinter protection which could be factored in. Realistically it wouldn’t make any difference given how it doesn’t exceed any important thresholds, hence why I did not include it. But the picture above includes the armor scheme in case you are interested. Main Armament: 3x2 150mm/48 Firing range: 13km Reload: 6s HE Alpha: 2,200 Fire chance: 12% AP Alpha: 3,700 Muzzle velocity: 835 m/s 180° Traverse: 22.5s I reduced the main battery reload a bit here, to increase her raw striking power over that of the T9. Compared to the other T10 DDs it still is the slowest reload, and that is acceptable. Secondary Armament: 1x2 88mm/76 Firing range: 6km Reload: 4s HE Alpha: 1,000 Fire chance: 4% Muzzle velocity: 950 m/s Same stats as on the T9, however I extended the range a bit just for the sake of it. Torpedo Armament: 2x5 533mm Firing Range: 12km Reload: 131s Damage: 14,400 Speed: 69kn Visibility: 1.4km Yes, those are quintuple launchers. The only German design I have seen which carried those. In case this ship didn’t have enough identity, she now even gets special Torpedo Tubes. AntiAircraftArmament: 1x2 88mm/76 4x1 55mm/77 Gerät 58 3x4 20mm Flakvierling 38 I once again took some liberties here and gave SP-1 an upgraded AA suite. Letting her run around with four mounts of hand-loaded 37mm guns would be unfitting, so I gave her the same guns as every other German T10 carries. Maneuverability: Top Speed: 35.5kn Rudder Shift: 6.8s Turning Radius: 820m This ship is clumsy. Nothing else I can add here except that this is one of the areas where I was brutal in an effort to balance out the ridiculous hitpool. Concealment: Surface Detection: 9.5km Air Detection: 5.5km Minimum Detection: 7.5km Consumables: Standard Destroyer Damage Control with 60s (40s when using the Premium version) cooldown and 5s duration Default Speed Boost, providing a 8% boost for 120s with a 180s (120s) cooldown and 2 (3) charges German Smoke Generator, operating for 20s with a 240s (160s) cooldown and 2 (3) charges. Smoke cloud last for 77s That wraps up my proposed DD line, it turned out to be a bit longer than I initially expected. But I do like how it turned out, and how the ships progress. Alaska

Okay so I was trying to find information for this online before I asked on the forums but I'd like to know of a general estimate of alaska's release date would be? I understand it's in testing and those things take awhile to work out all the kinks but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask! Afterall I need to know when she releases so I can spend money converting free XP to her if she is a free XP ship errr I mean tactically relocate the funds in my wallet.
