    Feeling Pink...

    Just got my second disconnect/crash in an hour. I've tried all the standard remedies (cache/uninstall). So, please, complain about how AFK should be punished *more*.
  2. What can be done? I don't know... but we just had a game where our Gearing, who had loaded in, just sat there and played AFK, 20 if not 30 seconds. Did not comm with any of us via chat, just sat where he spawned. Some on the team said to report him. I said yea, after the battle because the reds were on us. This genius then "wakes up" takes off in his DD and parks it up against an island, away from the reds. Noticing this, I asked him to "please come to the game". Less than ten seconds after I ask that, he's dead. So is a cruiser at the same location. We lost - at least in part do to his entire fiasco. This was not a "late load". It was "oh I got time to do this before the match really gets busy" as his guns were not in the late load position. I'm pretty sure WoWS could detect a true late load from a fake one if they felt it necessary. All but one of us lost a star to the individual. What could be done if anything, eh? Maybe take two stars away from him? I dunno. I will say Ranked is about to be put on life support. There's like nearly nobody out there. It's FRIDAY NIGHT PRIME TIME.
  3. It's very common in games these days to automatically drop AFK players from a game and replace them with another player in the queue in near real time. In a game of this type, having an afk player can be a legit handicap for the entire team. To me it's a legitimate way to not hamstring a team. What are the drawbacks and difficulties in implementing such a mechanism? Also, maybe the remaining team could all get some minor xp boost to accomodate an afk member? @iKami
  4. I've only been playing for a year, but my suggestion seems like a must have and I'm a bit surprised that it hasn't been implemented already. Currently when you want to join a game you push "Battle" and you are assigned to a match often with some amount of wait time. Only after you are assigned a match, will the WoWs system load all of the necessary code for you to play the match. Normally this is not an issue as most of it is already loaded from just starting the game up or having come from a previous match, but on occasions where you have been using your computer (I am on Windows 10) for other things (e.g., cat videos) your computer will de-allocate memory to WoWs. In these cases you may have only ~300-400 MB allocated to WoWs where WoWs needs about 1,400 MB to run a match. In this sort of circumstances it can take 5+ minutes to load all of the required resources to run the match and in some cases WoWs can actually crash causing you to have to restart. Even when the match starts in these circumstances, it is often supper chopy and difficult to play. In fact these sorts of failures are the cause of most of my "pink" time in the game as I'm pretty careful about FF issues. I know that I am not the only person that this issue affects and I would assume that most of the AFK in the game is as a result of this issue. Here is my suggestion, simply reverse the order of events in the WoWs code. When we push the "Battle" button first have our machine load all code but the map itself (which will come from the match selection) and have the code run an internal diagnostic to ensure that it is running well. Only then put us in the queue for a match. I'm sure that implementing this suggestion is not as easy as this, but I really doubt that it is impossible and would have a great effect of the player experience.

    Today i`m seeing on average 1 or 2 ships AFK per game,,whole match,,and at least a couple of very late load ins.. ? Any reason for this??

    First forum post and its gotta be this...to anyone that was in my montana games this morning, my game kept crashing. Put in a ticket to support so hopefully they can figure it out, but im really sorry. Would try loading back in and it just crashed to the desktop again. Kind of annoying. Again, sorry
  7. I have recorded, 9.3% of the time, someone was AFK during a battle. It shouldn't matter if the player had a legitimate excuse, WG should be able to replace the player. In the "report" dialog within the game, there is the "REPORT" a player, (whatever) but, when it comes to a player being AFK, this should be the responsibility of WG. Simply put, if a player is AFK, regardless of the reason, they should be replaced. My own personal view.
  8. i didnt even carry hard, and missed quite a few shots. managed to land the kill shots though. afk in randoms dont matter, except perhaps cv, but even thenn just takes more coordination/carrying. and yes, this is a large enough sample size to draw conclusions!
  9. I live in a scum 3rd world country where power outages occur 3/4 times per hour in day time. In night time, its less frequent. So I often get disconnected from the server while in game. I have a UPS but that is to shut down the computer manually, not to keep playing game any longer. By the time I sign in (if power comes back soon) I am dead unless I am not in sight of enemy team. The only way to avoid power disconnection is to buy inverter system which I am not up for now. Since there is a new report option for "AFK players", I wonder what could be the result of those reports if I got any.
