TBH with a username like mine it was never not going to happen. And yes, I know a lot of you guys are yawning because you already have this ship or aren't interested, but to me this is a big deal. I've been obsessed with this ship since I was a kid. My grandfather (who served on King George V and got to see Hood in person) described her as the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen that wasn't my grandmother. I've had a couple of games in her already and so far IMO she's fantastic. I know the sigma on her guns was buffed a few patches ago, and I have zero complaints about her gunnery. In fact, I have no complaints about anything but her turn radius (let's just say you don't want to take her down any channels or narrow gaps if you can help it, which is true of any battleship, but especially Hood). I put a speed flag on her in the last game and she moved like a rabbit chased by wasps. What about her anti-aircraft defenses you ask? Let's just say I'm gonna fully spec her out for AA and call her HMS Raid. I love this thing already. What a beast. Here endeth the gushing.

https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/warships1discussionboards/article-on-hms-hood-armor-testing-prior-to-final-d-t39534.html PDF at the bottom left of the article list. http://www.navweaps.com/index_nathan/index_nathan.php Nothing new for the experts in the crowd however an interesting read for myself. Just copy/pasted the start of it to give anyone a better idea if they wanted to keep reading.

So I just finished the wonderful model. I enjoyed it!! This kit is as close to the real thing as it gets! I haven't gotten to taking pics of the Hood yet but I will include those later. I have been impressed with Trumpeter (before I had done the Water Line series models), this was the amount of detail that I absolutely love!! I tried to follow the HMS Hood's Associations changes but they got so small and minuscule that I just left some stuff as is. I don't follow 100% accuracy because I like to relax and enjoy the build but large blaring mistakes I fix. This kit had no glaring mistakes... Anyways anyone who builds 1/700 models I recommend this kit to anyone it is spot on and a real treat to build. I salute anyone who does 1/350 scale, oh man does that look difficult. Anyone who does scale models share your most recent projects!! This doesn't have to ship it can be 1/35 tanks, 1/48 aircraft. My next project will probably be I can't wait!!!!!! Good Luck and Happy Modeling!!
