Naval Scenes in Kong vs Godzilla

I just watched Kong Vs Godzilla and seeing the recent Godzilla Vs Kong Dev Blog, the extensive "Naval Combat" scenes (practically just Godzilla and Kong smashing ships), and some interesting ship designs... I would like to show you all. Hmmm yes, I do believe that's an Iowa hull with an Arleigh Burke superstructure. Pretty cool nonetheless.

Both were fascinating ships in my opinion, it's too bad the Japanese aircraft sunk both of them. But interestingly enough, Repulse (being the highly maneuverable battlecruiser she was) managed to dodge 19 torpedoes and a number of bombs through impressive handling by her captain and crew before finally being taken down by five torpedo hits.

She carries the same main guns and AP/HE shells as Arizona. I think the standard plating on T6 ships is 26 mm... correct me if I'm wrong, but I imagine Oklahoma being covered from bow to stern in 26 mm plating. Tier VI - Repulse (1941) Survivability (37,400 tons, full load) ~ 55,010 HP in-game Main Guns (3x2) 15"/42 (381 mm) Mark I Guns 27.5 sec reload / 2.18 rpm 45 sec 180° turret traverse 19.3 km range 2.0 sigma (similar dispersion to Warspite) Armor Piercing 157,320 AP DPM 732 m/s 11,400 Max Damage High Explosive 86,940 HE DPM 732 m/s 6,300 Max Damage 42% Fire Chance Secondary Guns (3x3) 4" (102 mm) Guns (6x1) 4" (102 mm) Guns (Strangely enough, I couldn't find any info regarding these guns on NavWeaps or Wikipedia) AA Defense I'm too lazy to find info on Repulse's AA so just imagine that it is good for the tier. Repulse was lightly armored fairly quick, and highly maneuverable, so the engine boost seemed like an appropriate consumable for her, same as Nevada, Repulse should have 26 mm plating. Personally, I would love to see an up-tiered Iowa, I enjoyed Iowa much more than Montana tier for tier, so seeing an up-tiered and improved Iowa at T10 would be interesting. New Jersey broke the record of the fastest battleship ever at 35.2 kts in 1968, and she maintained that speed for 6 hours. That improved speed would be very helpful for an up-tiered Iowa, but the engine boost is somewhat excessive... I just thought it would be hilarious to see a battleship make 40.5 kts. New Jersey also had all of her AA guns removed with the exception of her dual purpose 5"/38s, balancing the AA would be bizarre but I'm assuming it would have weak short-ranged AA but strong long-ranged AA. Tier VI - Northampton (1942) Survivability (about 12,100 tons) 32,400 HP in-game Main Guns (3x3) 8"/55 (203 mm) Mark 14 Guns 14.5 sec reload / 4.13 rpm 25.7 sec 180° turret traverse 15.6 km range 2.0 sigma Armor Piercing 171,000 AP DPM 853 m/s 4,600 Max Damage High Explosive 104,080 HE DPM 823 m/s 2,800 Max Damage 12.5% Fire Chance Secondary Guns (8x1) 5"/25 (127 mm) Mark 19 Guns 4.5 sec reload / 13.33 rpm 5 km range 657 m/s 1,800 Max Damage 9% Fire Chance AA Defense (8x1) 5"/25 (127 mm) Mark 19 Guns 4.2 km range 58 damage per sec (average) (4x4) 28 mm Mk.1 on a Mk.2 mount 2.4 km range 13 damage per sec (average) Concealment 12.0 km Surface Conceal 6.1 km Air Conceal Maneuverability 32.7 kts 650 M Turning Circle 9.8 sec Rudder Shift Consumables Damage Control Party (60s reload) (5s action time) (unlimited charges) Defensive AA Fire (80s reload) (40s action time) (x1.5 continuous damage increase) (x4 damage from shell explosions) (4 charges) OR Hydroacoustic Search (120s reload) (100s action time) (4 km ship detection / 3 km torp detection) (3 charges) Fighter (90s reload) (60s action time) (3 km radius) (3 charges) Northampton was a Northampton Class Heavy Cruiser commissioned in 1930 as a successor to the Pensacola class of Heavy Cruisers. In Wows, she should be a balanced ship at T6, similar to Pensacola, heavy broadside, long reload time and decent armor. Thanks for taking the time to check out my proposal, let me know what I can improve on this.

    USN BB Re-balance/Split

I'm here about 13 months late but I have to tell you that this is a really nice proposal, sadly we won't get it. But in light of somewhat recently released ships (like California, Vermont, Kansas, etc) I do want to say California is a disaster. 34s reload at T7 is tragic, the hull shape is terrible, armor is bad, gun performance is meh. The AA is the only remotely good part about the ship... but then they decided to release Florida... utter and complete power creep over California, better gun layout, better gun performance, quicker, more maneuverable, with the same good AA, oh and better yet, Hyuga is on the way, with quicker reload, MBRB, more maneuverability, and 5 kts faster. Kansas is just bad and Minnesota is just ok. Vermont is the only "good" ship of the line split. And about this (obviously we won't see another American BB split but...), I think there are a couple of issues with this... The post-war Kentucky redesign gave her an improved AA battery... but not quad 406 mm guns. The design gave her 3x4 - 203 mm guns (same as Des Moines' guns). (Credits to Tzoli) https://www.deviantart.com/tzoli/art/Anti-Aircraft-Cruiser-Battleship-USS-Kentucky-G-735968026 And Montana after South Dakota (1920) and a Tillman would be pretty awkward. Personally, I would see the lines go like this: V New York, VI New Mexico, VII Colorado, VIII South Dakota (1920), IX Tillman I/III (either "I" with nerfed armor or "III" with nerfed speed), and X Tillman IV-2 (minus 1 gun) V Nevada (probably without her WW2 refit), VI Pennsylvania, Saratoga/Constitution (speed reduced to 30 kts, armor belt increased to 228 mm or 254 mm), VIII North Carolina, IX Iowa, X Montana And about this... There's BB 65-6 and BB 65-8 (below in respective order). (4x3) 406 mm guns, 31 kts, 389 mm belt, 74,400 tons (about 99k HP in game). (4x3) 406 mm guns, 33 kts, 400 mm belt, 82,000 tons (about 107k HP in game). Tier 6 Choice

I would strongly recommend Mutsu over either of those two, she has torpedoes and 16 inch guns. But between the two I would go for Dunkerque, she costs less money and shes fun to play. Stay away from P. E. Friedrich...

    Italian Battleship Lineup

I am very excited for this line... although I don't think the T10 they picked is particularly accurate... It is General Ferrati's "G" series designs from 1915. I understand that C. Colombo is supposed to be a modernized variant... but the real design had a 270 mm belt.

    Armored Cruisers - Proposal

Well, because realistically the ships had smaller secondaries... along with the large ones.

    Armored Cruisers - Proposal

Hey everyone, Armored (or armoured) cruisers have been on my mind ever since the addition of super cruisers to the game. My vision of armored cruisers would practically be super cruisers at a lower tier. Here it is! Tier III Cruisers Maryland - American Survivability 34,180 HP Main Guns (2x2) 8 inch guns 14s reload 11.1 km range Secondary Guns (14x1) 6 inch guns 10s reload 5.5 km range (18x1) 3 inch guns 5s reload 4 km range Main Belt 6 inches Maneuverability 22.4 knots 10.8s rudder shift Concealment 10.2 km sea 5.5 km air Consumables Damage Control Party Ship Repair USS Maryland (ACR-8) was a Pennsylvania class armored cruiser. Based on her powerful secondary complement, in WoWs it would only be fair to give her powerful secondary build. I know low tier secondary builds generally aren't worth it, but they can still come in handy especially because of how often you fight at 4 to 6 km in T3 battles. You will see powerful secondary weapons on most of these Armored cruisers. Warrior - British Survivability 33,210 HP Main Guns (6x1) 9.2 inch guns 16s reload 10.9 km range Secondary Guns (4x1) 7.5 inch guns 11s reload 6 km range Main Belt 6 inches Maneuverability 23 knots 11.8s rudder shift Concealment 12.5 km sea 5.9 km air Consumables Damage Control Party Ship Repair HMS Warrior was the first of her class of armored cruisers of the Royal Navy. She carried six 9.2 inch guns in single mountings, Her secondary armament consisted of four 7.5 inch guns in single mountings, with these guns in WoWs, she would have the largest secondary guns in the entire game. And due to her heavy shells, 380 lbs, her reload time would be slightly longer to balance her out with the other armored cruisers. Jules Michelet - French Survivability 30,100 HP Main Guns (2x2) 7.6 inch guns 12s reload 13.1 km range Secondary Guns (12x1) 6.5 inch guns 11s reload 5 km range Main Belt 6 inches Maneuverability 22.5 knots 9.8s rudder shift Concealment 9.6 km sea 4.9 km air Consumables Damage Control Party Ship Repair Jules Michelet would be a very unique cruiser in WoW, similar to the low tier French Battleships, her main guns fire shells at an extremely high velocity, 940 m/s. And along with her impressive main guns, she has a powerful secondary armament. Along with her high velocity guns, she is stealthier than the other armored cruisers. Tier IV Cruisers Memphis - Americans Survivability 35,005 HP Main Guns (2x2) 10 inch guns 14s reload 12.1 km range Secondary Guns (16x1) 6 inch guns 9s reload 5.5 km range (22x1) 3 inch guns 5s reload 4 km range Main Belt 5 inches Maneuverability 22.2 knots 12.1s rudder shift Concealment 11.8 km sea 5.8 km air Consumables Damage Control Party Ship Repair Previously USS Tennessee, she was renamed after it was determined that only battleships could receive the name of a state. She was renamed USS Memphis after her fit which gave her an extra complement of guns and a new cage mast. In practical terms, she was a complete improvement over the previous Pennsylvania class of armored cruisers. In WoWs she should be modeled in the refitted form. Defence - British Survivability 33,360 HP Main Guns (2x2) 9.2 inch guns 12s reload 12.7 km range Secondary Guns (10x1) 7.5 inch guns 11s reload 6 km range (16x1) 3 inch guns 4s reload 4 km range Main Belt 6 inches Maneuverability 23 knots 12.2s rudder shift Concealment 12.6 km sea 6.6 km air Consumables Damage Control Party Ship Repair Like the previous class of armored cruisers, the Minotaur class armored cruisers carried 9.2 inch guns, but in a much more conventional layout, and more secondary batteries. Like Memphis she is also an upgrade over her predecessor. And again, a very powerful secondary armament. Edgar Quinet - French Survivability 32,320 HP Main Guns (2x2)(10x1) 7.6 inch guns 12s reload 13.9 km range Secondary Guns (20x1) 2.6 inch guns 4s reload 4 km range Main Belt 5.9 inches Maneuverability 23 knots 11.7s rudder shift Concealment 12.6 km sea 6.6 km air Consumables Damage Control Party Ship Repair Hydroacoustic Search Edgar Quinet carried a very heavy broadside for her class and time, she could fire nine of her main guns at once. She carried 5.9 inches of armor on her belt, and could maintain a speed a 23 knots even though she had 6 smoke stacks... Rurik - Russian Survivability 34,630 HP Main Guns (2x2) 10 inch guns 15s reload 11.7 km range Secondary Guns (4x2) 8 inch guns 12s reload 6 km range (20x1) 4.7 inch guns 7s reload 3.5 km range Main Belt 6 inches Maneuverability 21 kts 12.9s rudder shift Concealment 11.6 km sea 6.1 km air Consumables Damage Control Party Ship Repair Sometimes considered to be one of the most powerful armored cruisers ever built, Rurik was a cruiser designed and built by Vickers for the Imperial Russian navy in 1905. She was the pinnacle of British armored cruisers design in 20th century. In WoWs she will likely be extremely powerful based because she is Russian, but who knows? Maybe since she's on the side of the Whites she's going to be normal. Blucher - German Survivability 37,180 HP Main Guns (6x2) 8.3 inch guns 14s reload 10.8 km range Secondary Guns (8x1) 5.9 inch guns 8s reload 6.5 km range (16x1) 3.5 inch guns 5s reload 4 km range Main Belt 7.1 inches Maneuverability 25.4 kts 10.5s rudder shift Concealment 10.6 km sea 6.9 km air Consumables Damage Control Party Ship Repair Hydroacoustic Search Blucher was the last armored cruiser built by the Imperial German Navy and she was a monster. Designed to counter the plans for the first British Battlecruiser she displaced roughly 17,500 tons and carried a the typical layout of German Battleships at the time. I would reckon Wargaming makes her similar to a German Battleship, secondaries and all. San Giorgio - Italian Above: San Giorgio as completed in 1910 Under: San Giorgio after her modernization in 1940 Survivability 1910: 28,400 HP or 1940: 28,700 HP Main Guns (2x2) 10 inch guns 12s reload 10.4 km range Secondary Guns Original: (4x2) 7.5 inch guns 10s reload 4.5 km range (18x1) 3 inch guns 5s reload 3 km range 1940 version: (4x2) 7.5 inch guns 10s reload 4.5 km range (4x2) 4 inch guns 5s reload 3.5 km range Main Belt 7.9 inches Maneuverability 23 kts 10.3s rudder shift Concealment 9.8 km sea 5.9 km air Consumables Damage Control Party Ship Repair I think San Giorgio modernized form would be more fair at T4 because of her more powerful AA complement and more modern form especially because San Giorgio only displaced 11,000 tons but personally, I think the original form looks better. Georgios Averof - Greek (Pan-European) Survivability 27,120 HP Main Guns (2x2) 9.2 inch guns 11s reload 13.1 km range Secondary Guns (4x2) 7.5 inch guns 9s reload 8 km range (8x1) 3 inch guns 4s reload 4 km range Main Belt 7.9 inches Maneuverability 23.5 kts 9.9s rudder shift Concealment 10.1 km sea 6.2 km air Consumables Damage Control Party Ship Repair Hydroacoustic Search Georgios Averof was the pride of Hellenic navy, she was commissioned in 1911 and wasn't decommissioned until 1952. She fought in the Balkan War, WW1 and WW2, and became a very successful ship. She would be the first Greek ship in WoWs. I would also like to see a new type of secondary concept with these ships, because like pre-dreadnoughts, they had twin main armaments, and wargaming would never implement different caliber main armament, so it would make more sense to see long ranged (secondary main armaments) and short ranged (real secondary weapons) secondaries. PS - I got the super cruiser formula, so I plugged them in. Thanks for checking out my proposal, some insight below would be greatly appreciated, I am looking forward to armored cruisers in WoWs!

    British BB Split - Battlecruisers

Thanks man. I would hate to see Wargaming skip this but it may happen... Anyway I forgot to give the BCs engine boost in my proposal I should have done that. I just saw a lot a similarities between UK heavy cruisers and battleships, and I thought that Light cruisers and BC could be very similar, things like AP only but idk man, works either way.

    Italian Battleships Line Proposal

Oh wow, I never visit the EU forum, but I see this is identical to my proposal... except they designed created it. That's exactly what I would like to see in game!

    Florida Nerf

And its sad because the USN battleships were very effective ships in real life, and they continuously proved it throughout the second world war... unlike Russian battleships...
  15. jo_jo_nerd

    Florida Nerf

Florida was never even OP though, the ship only had 2 good things going for it, many guns in a good layout and a big healthpool. It was going to be a fair ship at T7....
