  1. no one cares what you do, nor do they care what i do. however if the game wants to promote itself, that is by far the best, fastest way to do it. It's not about you Edge. It's about the game, it's most opportune opportunity to provide information to the payer base.
  2. What do you do? Click on the Warships icon, when it loads you hit launch game? The most captive opportunity you have in this game is wasted by showing ships shoot each other while the game loads. For me, it's about 45 seconds. During that 45 seconds you could easily flash all the things going on in this game so that every player that plays the game will see them. Either an overlay or a corner window. I would be shocked if 15% of the player base actually goes to the website to read about game news, and that number or less reads the small print on the launch page before hitting launch. As soon as we see the big orange launch button we hit it. Now is your money shot, you have a golden period of 30-45 seconds of almost 100% player attention... Use it. While the game is loading advocate what the game is doing. Marketing 101 by Sweetsie.

    You haven't even got the Edinburgh yet. Or the exploding Nurnberg...You haven't seen maximum effort until you play those.

    But it really is just the same instead of speed or smoke you simply dive. But lets not belabor the point, I realize there will be depth charges... and some different playstyles. As I have said in previous posts in this thread, I want them to work, make the game better and everyone to be happy. I have significant doubts based on how the CV rework was handled combined with the testing I did with Subs and the lack of any current footage of them in game recently.

    It does. But as you know as well as anyone the similarities of DD torp boats and the projected play style of Subs will be extremely close. Hide and shoot torps. What new dynamic does the Sub bring to the game? Besides revenue generation. I hope they are fun, I hope they make the game better. I Hope they aren't crammed into a 12v12 environment that really doesn't work with the current game mode, I hope there are changes made to the game that makes them work. Do I see end game scenarios of 3 v3 subs left for 6 minutes? Or a few surface ships against two Subs and never seeing each other for 6 minutes.... The initial test was so boring and 1980s'ish I wanted to get killed so I could leave the game.

    How? Hide and shoot torps. Get detected and get shot. please tell me there are bigger differences than that. Just because one is under the water and the other can't be seen on it makes no difference. hide and shoot torps...rinse and repeat.

    It's like golf, You may go out and shoot a 103 every day for the rest of your life. But you remember the two holes you pared or the one hole you chipped in from 40 yards out. Enough glory provided to continue to come back and make the same mistakes over and over.

    The real issue is that most players don't know how bad they are. We all have played games where everyone is getting yelled at by a player with 15,000 games at 46% and very low stats across the board. Most players don't frequent the forum, look up youtube vids for help or focus on their own improvement of personal stats or even know they exist. Each player (well most) thinks they play the game well, and that is the core of the problem. It's why those running MM Monitor see games where only three of twenty four players per game have above 50% WR. It's why we have MM threads multiple times every day. And for me going into year 5 of playing this game.... nothing has changed. There is simply a churn rate of players and player skill that literally keeps the game exactly the same way it has been since inception.

    An idea I have been suggesting for years now is a solo scenario experience with a scoring system. It will become very clear and private to the individual as to how well he is playing based upon on score. There could be a mini reward system so that players are encouraged to participate and as a by product, be forced to become better players.

    Explain the difference of shooting a torp while not being seen. From a Sub, a DD, a Cruiser or BB. If pressed all of the above have to hide and lose initiative. I realize that is complex in it's simplicity, but it is also fact.

    We already have Subs in the game, DD's. We have gunboat DD's and we have Torp DD's, Torp DD's are Subs. Low detection strong torps. Same as a Sub.
