  1. Therein lies the problem. I'm glad that Fletcher and Admiral are both very enthusiastic, but they've already played each other and I wouldn't like to do a game between them again so soon..
  2. Just posting this here as a little bit of an update. It appears, to me at least, that interest in this endeavor has started to wane. I have had very little time lately to do anything league-related, thanks to my courses picking up and exams quickly approaching. Activity in the threads has been nonexistent, and some have failed to respond to my messages. For that reason, it appears that we will have to put the league on hold for the moment. I do think this endeavor can and will be successful, but, for that to happen, we will need the commitment of all those involved. I am not going to name any names, for those who do not want to be part of the league anymore are not bound to it by any means, but I still lament the fact that activity has been sparse. Perhaps this means that the job of being a referee will have to be shared with someone in the future, or perhaps this means that this endeavor will have to end. Whatever the course we proceed on, I'd just like to let everyone who's been involved know that I very much appreciate your commitment, and I have had a blast starting this. I really do hope that we can continue, but it will require the interest and commitment of our players to do so. If we do not continue, I will just say that this experience has helped me learn a lot of things, not only about games, but also about organizing people in general, which will be helpful in the future. Fair sailing to all. Z
  3. That sounds good to me, though dseehafer will have to enlighten me on what forces the Germans could bring to bear in the north.
  4. Hmm. Perhaps we could limit it to the Northern Fleet or something like the Black Sea. I'm loath to do the same exact thing twice, especially when our first time doing it hasn't technically finished. The Northern Fleet would introduce ice mechanics and that type of thing if we did it. The Black Sea might be a bit more interesting, though it wouldn't really feature any battleship combat, unless the Turks got involved or something like that.
  5. Alright. Do you mean doing both the Baltic and the Northern Fleet at the same time?
  6. Some good ideas, Admiral. But I don't know what to do if no one wants to play any new games, besides you... The wait continues.
  7. Perhaps, but I'd like to decrease the number of ships rather than increase it, based on the experiences of the last game. So I think the next game will not have a super large model ships, as that game would. But perhaps we can save it for the future.
  8. I don't know about making a map for the entire Earth...
  9. Well, looks like this is going to be put on hold for now unless more players express interest. If you guys have any suggestions for what you want to do next, then please tell me. Otherwise, I suppose I'm just going to have to wait for ClopOut to reply, or for someone to express interest (besides High_Admiral, at least).
  10. In fact, that game was technically begun before your game was, though now that Fog_Cruiser_Maine appears to have abandoned NWL, we're going to have to find another player.
  11. Indeed, though I wouldn't really consider this too ahistorical besides Graf Zeppelin. Oh well, we live and we learn, I guess.
  12. Perhaps. It would, of course, be simpler to just continue and maybe end it on Turn Five or Six (or after a major battle) like in the last one, but we can't really do that without Sweden. We'll just have to wait and see, unfortunately.
  13. Well, I'm not sure what to do. Without Sweden, I don't really see how the USSR can even have a chance of winning, but I don't think we can continue to wait for extremely extended periods of time to get responses. Perhaps we might have to abandon this game and start another one, unfortunately. I've learned a lot from this game so far, however. One of the big things I learned was that neat little idea I had to give everyone MTBs doesn't really work out that well. I think I will be changing that in the future to be more of a generic model than something which is super specific. For example, every type of naval base will have access to a certain number of light assets like MTBs and patrol boats and these will be used to patrol around the base without the influence of the player. This will make it much more difficult for players to sneak up on enemy naval bases, and take a big burden off all players. Anyway, if you guys want to get involved in another game, you can check out the recruiting station here and see if any of the games appeal to you. As I said before though, I don't want to be running two games at once. So if a few players say they want to play something else, then I'm going to have to end this game to accommodate that. This seems to be a recurring theme in the Mock Battles, so I shouldn't be surprised if it happens again. I'm going to go ahead and say I don't expect the Mock Battles to conclude completely in the future.
  14. I'm currently awaiting Sweden's movement orders. I've filled out spreadsheets for everyone else, but I'm still waiting to fill out Sweden's information. ClopOut hasn't gotten back to me since the 7th, as he is quite busy with other things. I'm afraid all we can do is wait. Hope all is going well with you guys. Cheers.
  15. I've decided it's not a super good idea to run two games at the same time, at least until I can get down how to handle all the resources in this game. So, I'd prefer we didn't start another game quite yet. I wouldn't suggest waiting around for responses though. I've found out that's a pretty bad idea.
