The F3 torps on my Shimikaze have a 76 knot speed and a sea detectability range of 1.8 kilometers. 76Kts equals 140 kilometers per hour ( all figures rounded ). 140 kph divided by 60 ( to get kilometers per minute ) = 2.3 kpm 2.3 kpm divided by 60 ( to get kilometers per second ) = .039 kps 46 seconds times .039 kps = the 1.8 detection range. There's no way ships are getting 46 sec. warning on these torps - so obviously I've done something wrong, because Maths is hard. Thoughts?
