  1. A Sad Goodbye!

As of now, I'm retiring from the game, and I'm not likely to return.

Why am I leaving? Well it's a number of factors really, that over time, really ruins the game for me and no longer makes it as enjoyable as it once was.

    1. End of support for MAC.

When I first started, I only had a Mac laptop and at first, the game was playable, but over time, the game constantly crashes and it pisses me off that WG doesn't support the MAC variant. I mean, what's the point of having it if you don't support it?

Thankfully, I bought a PC desktop two years earlier, and I could have stayed, yet there are other reasons why I'm leaving.

    2. Constant Major reworking of the game.

At first, all seems fine when I've started, but over time, WG made major changes to the playable ships in the game, such as nerfing a majority of the battleships in my collection, and the infamous Carrier Reworking update.

The ships were fine as is in my opinion, and in my mind, WG ruined the game by implementing these changes.

    3. The expenses of playing the game.

Over time, the costs of maintaining my status, my ships, research, and premium account has increased to the point that I could no-longer afford it. Some of you would think, don't buy premiums then, don't spend too much then. Unfortunately, the way the game is rigged now, and the way my account is set up, I couldn't do anything about it without either being left out, or be able to achieve things the way I want them to in the game.

    4. Issues with the matchmaker.

:etc_swear: This one, really pisses me off! For the last 2 years, it seems like whenever I join a match, I'm always stuck with losing teams. I admit, some maybe my fault due to me being an average player with not much talent. Yet, almost always, it's the rest of the team getting themselves easily killed, while the rival team loses little to no ships, and this happens as much as 5 to 15 times in a row! Not only does it ruin my W/L stats, but it also, over time, deters me from playing the game, as well as making me curse WG for letting this happen again and again.

    5. Adding submarines to the game.

:Smile_facepalm: WHY?!?! What were they thinking?!?! Since I first joined WOWS, the position was NO SUBS! Unfortunately, over time,  idiotic players made suggestions to add them to the game. At first, I, along with many just laughed, and thought to ourselves, like that would ever happen. Yet when they first put them in the Halloween event a couple years back, I thought to myself, ok, hopefully it would just be that, but, then when it was confirmed that they would be added, I thought to myself, why? It wouldn't work the way the game is set up, and it would over time, likely cause more to complain [as if there weren't enough of it these days] and would certainly break the game. I mean, if they want to play with subs so bad, go play the Silent Hunter series of games (I recommend SH3 & SH4).

    6. All the fun and excitement is gone.

Lastly, as time wore on, along with these things, the final reason I'm done with this game is that the very thing that all players should have while playing a game is gone; fun, excitement, and an enjoyable experience.

It was what drove me to joining this game (that, and all the exciting historical warships I get to play with).

As of now, there is none. When I play this game, it's stressful, annoying, frustrating, and it's really not that enjoyable for me anymore.

After 5 years of being a member of the WarGaming community, and over 4 years of being a member of WOWS community I've had a memorable experience, I'll never forget all the fun I've had and I'll miss you all and yet, while I'm sad that I have made this decision, I know that not all good things last forever...

As for me, I'll be found on the other side in a game that I now find more enjoyable, (yet controversial to the WG community); [edited] under the name SpottedFox.

Thank you all for making my experience here as enjoyable as it is, and I hope that you would find it within you all to enjoy your gaming experience to the fullest!

Good Luck and Fair Seas to you all! :Smile_honoring:

  2. Am I not the only one who has this issue? After I updated my game, I tried to access the new dockyard feature in the game, but was met with an "endless loading screen". Because of this, I was forced to turn off/on my computer to escape this issue. I'm still not able to access it lest I want to get stuck in this situation. I already sent a ticket, and I'm hoping that WG would issue a patch to fix this issue soon.
  3. The one on top is a postcard, the other I think is a photograph. I agree, they are quite nice. Come to think about it, my parents have a collection of these series of vintage post cards like the one on top depicting Southern California at the time, and I have some from the same series that depict Las Vegas from that time as well.

The first thing you'll see at the dockyard

As someone who is previously suckered invested in acquiring the Puerto Rico, my current thought in this new event is It might be a nice event like the last one (I liked the Puerto Rico btw) hopefully that it won't be too costly this time. Otherwise, I can only hope that I have the will power this time to hold off on making another expensive purchase.
  5. Love the idea, though there is something missing. I've noticed that some events feature a new port for the game. I believe that the icing on the cake should be a new port; the port of San Francisco. Not only would it give the game a nice aesthetic fitting for the California event, it would also be a nod to the historical navel usage of the city.

    Nelson Secondaries

I don't think that would be possible. It comes down to the mechanics of the game, as well as the in-game strengths/weaknesses of ships in the game (German/French BBs starting at Tier VIII typically have strong secondaries). It also comes down to what is equipped on those ships by the player, the skills of the captain equipped on those ships by the player, and the "play style"/techniques used by the player. What I do with any warship that has all it's main armament forward (like the Nelson, Richelieu, and Dunkirque), is that I equip my captain with the "Manuel Focus Secondary Armament" skill. That would increase the accuracy of those guns and cause additional damage on a selected target. I usually do so to make up for the lack of stern mounted main armament.

    First Person/Bridge View

I agree with the first person view of the bridge of the ships in the game [not the aircraft]. It would be fun to see these ships in action from a new perspective.

    Video Theater

I don't know where I can find the full film, but what I can see in this clip, this soldier can drink, and take down the enemy at the same time!

My Sub Skepticism has changed, thanks WG

Since WG stopped supporting MAC players, and the major CV rework turned fiasco, my support of the game has declined, especially with the increase in prices for resources, yet I was willing to keep quiet and stay since I've already invested so much into this game. But now, with WG offically breaking it's original promise of not adding submarines to the game. I'm now very close to my breaking point with the game since I can tell already that this would be obviously, a major disaster. I didn't want to say this but when it actually happens: "Congrats Wargaming, you just broke your own game!"

    New Operation Suggestions

Not bad suggestions. I once made a suggestion for Operations based on the Channel Dash of 1942, where a major flotilla of German warships including the battleships Scharnhorst and Gneisenau and the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen slipped through the English Channel virtually unscathed. The ships being limited to German warships from Tiers 7 to 8 (due to Scharnhorst and Gneisenau being Tier 7 and Prinz Eugen being Tier 8), would sail through a narrow channel with some smaller vessels while staving off enemy destroyers, torpedo boats, aircraft, and coastal guns with the idea of making it through with minimum casualties. Sadly though I don't think there will be any new operations for the foreseeable future due to WG focusing on other projects such as holiday/memorial events, and new warships.

    London Fog

This is not what I expected when I heard London Fog. I thought this is a post that suggests that the London port be made more realistic by occasionally feature the iconic fog typically seen in London. But otherwise, when it comes to ships of the same class on the basis of premium vs. tech tree ships, it's a bit complicated. When WG adds a premium version of a ship of the same class as one is already in the game as a tech tree vessel, they alter the mechanics based on what is possibly wanted from the community, or to fit a different tier. But hey, a free ship is a free ship, if you think it isn't a good ship, it's better that you get it for free than paying for it and having 'buyer's remorse.'

    Night Battles

The idea has been around a lot longer than that. But yeah, I was wondering when that would ever happen. The only thing involving night battles was 'Operation Cherry Blossom,' sadly after it was first released, development for further gameplay involving night battles have stopped. It's a shame, it would have been nice to have that in random battles in the game.

Funny News, Add to it if you find it, Humor is the key

When you fire a volley of torpedoes at an enemy ship, but one of your teammates slipped in front of your target...

Now that the ARP ships are back

I agree, they should bring it back at least for this event. While they're at it, before they discontinue the ARP event, they should also add Hyuuga and Maya!
  15. Welp...

My server just crashed, and I can't login to the game right now.

I'm currently in a loop with customer service about fixing this problem.

I hope that (since I'm on the Windows version of the game), WG would do better in fixing this issue better than they did when I was on the MAC version of the game.

If not.... along with multiple frustrations of the current mechanics of the game, I might not ever come back...

I had this problem a few times myself. Finding out later that my internet service have been having connection issues and even contacting the cable company support for fixes. Heck I had someone came out to look at my boxes only to tell me that it working fine and 25$ was added to my bill(never again), Was unable to play Wows or Wot for 2 months till the problem slowly went away.

I would suggest on taking a month or two break from the game to do other things. Hoping your issue will go away

      Thanks Renegade!

My issue has to due with the recent issues with Spectrum/Charter Communications. This wouldn't let me log on to my account.

I hope there would be some sort of compensation for this since I'm missing out on the holiday event, as well as gaining points to unlock boosters for the completion of the Puerto Rico.

I hope that the issue would be resolve soon or it would be another reason for me to leave the game.

I can only hope that it would never happen, but we can only wait and see how it plays out.

Have a Happy New Year Major!
