I appreciate the response LWM. Your reviews are always really well done so I value your opinion on the matter. Trying to not let the "ooh new shiny" feeling overwhelm my common sense. Obviously fun is the greatest factor when purchasing something but I also want something that will perform well and/or differently from something I already have.
I know I am "stuck" with something in the tier 6 or 7 range with my current budget, unless I can convince the wife to let me spend a little more (you can blame WoT on Xbox 360/One for her reticence since I spent ummm, a bit more than $35-$40 on that, lol )
