    repair and fire suppression resets?

ok, I was just wondering. several times ive seen it where I've pressed the button, then a timer counts down for a period of time, and then after that timer expires, the countdown timer will reset to between 1 and 2 minutes and then start again. wasn't aware the first timer was a "working" timer and the second was a countdown. so essentially, once you use a system, it's unavailable again for about 3 minutes?
  2. ive been noticing that my repair and fire suppression will be down to like 10 seconds to reuse, then ill get hit by a shell and they will reset to anywhere between 1 and 2 minutes to reuse. is this normal? just curious.

    stealth needs to be addressed

10-4, just seems a bit broken to me to have a ship right in front of you able to fire guns and torps and you simply cant see them. It is what it is I suppose.

yes, I understand, if the ship were off in the distance, that would be one thing, but to have a ship right in front of you. I mean, there should be some sort of limit on this, otherwise, a single ship, with the right cammo, flags, and captain skills could just stealth around the map picking off half the enemy fleet and never be seen, no?
  7. it's a bit ridiculous that ships can fire on you from complete invisibility. today, I was firing on a carrier, and then the carrier simply vanished, yet, he was still launching aircraft and attacking me. when he vanished, he was only about 10km away from me. still, while I couldnt see him, he kept launching a series of aircraft. after that, I had another match where a destroyer, again, about 8km away from me would launch torpedos, and then immediately vanish, then, he popped smoke and continued to launch his guns and torps from complete invisibilty. how is this not considered broken. in both cases, the ships were right in front of me, and firing on me, yet I could not see them.

    concealment?

what is up with concealment? I was under the impression that when a ship fired, they had a cooldown before they could be concealed again. im seeing quite a few ships fire, and then immediately they disappear from view, and were talking less than 8km apart? I was under the impression that wasn't supposed to happen like that? also, while were on it, what is up with people shooting through the islands? have been seeing that a lot as well.

    shell dispersion/target lock

thanks for the replies. looks like I just need to trudge through the trenches and maybe get my skill and aiming up.

    shell dispersion/target lock

ive been working on the Wyoming trying to work up the battleship tree, but it seems it happens with most ships I play. at the moment, im switching between the battleship, cruiser, and destroyer on the American tree. the Wyoming, to me is just plain frustrating. the slow reload time means when going up against a destroyer, their guns (not torpedos, just their guns) will take about half of my hit points away while im waiting on my guns to reload, only to fire on the destroyer and maybe 1 or 2 shells will hit and cause very little damage, then its back to waiting for reload and getting pelted by continuous fire from the faster reloading destroyer. just seems to me, with a ship that is as slow and slow to reload as the Wyoming (and probably other battleships) that the dispersion would be much better and damage would be a bit better. im just wondering if accuracy becomes much better as your captain ranks up. I know the ability to aim comes into play, but ill watch the shells as they land and they will be right on target, but ill see several land just short of the target and several land just past the target, with maybe 1 or 2 actually hitting the target. this is what im trying to figure out. one thing that might help is salvo type. im assuming that full salvo is only for when the ship is close, correct? at range, you need to use single fire, or rapid single fire? (holding down LMB to fire all in sequence?) I don't really look at what name of ship is firing on me (I need to do this), I notice what type of ship it is (battle, cruiser, destroyer etc..) but usually don't look to see which actual ship it is, I just notice that when im being fired upon, most of the shells are grouped pretty close together, and often, most of the shells in that grouping will hit, with very few times the shells landing in the water, but it's the opposite for me, so apparently, there is something im doing very wrong.
  11. im finding that there is a vast difference between what im seeing with my ships vs what im seeing with other people. that is shell dispersion is much much different. is that just a matter of having a high captain ranking or is it something else? what im noticing is when I fire, my shells are all over the place, often, in a single salvo, they will either land short, or over shoot. yet, I constantly am seeing people who's shells are always tightly packed and often hit the same place on their target. it's frustrating to say the least when you have a ship that has a slow reload time, and you fire and miss every shot, and they have a ship with a fast reload time and every one of their shells are hitting. is there something im missing? also, I understand that you can press X to lock on target, but, from what i'm seeing, the game auto locks most of the time. is pressing X no longer required? I can aim at a ship and the white circle/cross hairs appear on it without me pressing anything. is that the target lock im looking for? also, can you ctrl click (I assume this is primary target focus for your secondary guns) on planes or is it only for other ships?

    game disconnects

update: purchased new modem, router and new cat 6 cables, and had to have cable company provision the new modem. problem is fixed, but im not sure which part fixed it. i'm not sure if it was the new modem, the new router, the new cables, or if perhaps it was simply when the provisioned my new router, they had to refresh the signal, and that could have been the fix. in any case, all is good now. thanks for the responses.

    game disconnects

it's not inactivity, ill just lose connection at random during the game, sometimes twice. it will boot me to a splash screen, and I can press the connect button and come right back in. seems to happen more when I am actually in combat with someone. ive not really noticed it disconnecting when I am out of combat and just running from one point to another, however, it may have happened like that a time or two. mostly seems to happen when I am in combat. a lot of times, ill come back from the disconnect and ill be either sunk or nearly sunk. it's not an occasional thing either, it will happen every game, at least once, sometimes twice. so far, ive wiped my computer and reinstalled everything, I am about to run to best buy and buy a new modem, router, and all new cat 6 cables and rule that out. beyond those things, it could possibly be something in my hardware, or just out of my control altogether.
