Speaking of Leningrad, it looks like both versions have the 'inscription', rather than the wartime one not having it.

Sadly, my entry (a modern Soviet camo) didn't make it to the worldwide finals. :( Maybe the next camo contest will be the one for me. It was still fun to make it.

That was fast! I look forward to seeing the results of both projects. There's a great documentary about the Indy on PBS, which is viewable online in the US: https://www.pbs.org/video/uss-indianapolis-the-final-chapter-aabbsw/ - available until early Feb.

I look forward to them! If you ever get the chance, I'd love to see Indianapolis done in one of her earlier camouflage schemes: Measure 32 design 7D. I've got the Tanz skin representing her as sunk but I honestly prefer dazzle like this.

Ah, don't feel bad... there's a special camo for Tirpitz designed around destroyer Z-23 alongside and looking like part of the camo! Sadly, while I've seen the original picture (that this is based on) before, I can't find it now. :( If anyone does find it, please share. Thank you for these new camos. I've been running Tanz' Molotov skin for a long time now which makes her look like the Italian ships she's descended from, but I wanted a real Soviet scheme. Now I've got one.

I've noticed that in bot games (mirrored MM) my clone doesn't have my black hull but has the standard skin I've applied to the regular Mamie. You can make a skin for the black hull; I was able to successfully duplicate Tanz' various Bismarck skins to match the special Bismarck hulls (damaged, sunk). As a result I can see three different variants of her. I did the same thing for Hood. You will just need to find the file names for the black hull's components and duplicate the skin's file names to match. I haven't tested whether it's possible to disable the black skins yet still play the ship, though. I like my Mamie too much -- it's a monster with BFT and IFHE.

England is definitely on my to-visit list. I bought Belfast when she came out in-game because I'd always said "If WG ever makes a Belfast premium, I'm buying it. Day one. She just looks so elegant. I don't care if it turns out to be terrible and a port queen. I still want it." They did. I did. No regrets. And she proudly sports a Tanz skin. There's so many museums I want to visit. Bovington Tank Museum, Imperial War Museum, British Museum, some of the old libraries... the list goes on and on and on and on.

Thank you! Still using lots of your lovely skins, and now increasing numbers of USNA's to fill in the holes. Did Facebook kill your site? I wouldn't be surprised if they got mad over the German ships, too.

Definitely not worth it. I know it's there but I don't spend enough time in battle looking at it or worrying about it to care. Happy new year!

What is the purpose of the "fins" attached to the stacks? I've wondered this for a while but never found an answer. They weren't always there; I've found pictures of the ship that don't show them.

I have this issue as well, and it's relatively new; I've been using USNA's skins and Tanz' skins for a while. I think the likely cause is a change to the rendering engine. (though I wonder - do you have Nvidia or ATI graphics? I have Nvidia; I wonder if there's any connection). What you see is a moiré pattern that's created by the zoom setting, rendering engine, viewing angle, and the "stripes" on the deck created by the planking.

Small glitch on no. 1 stack of Charleston.

That's an interesting one! The camouflage was made based on a picture of St. Louis, and sometimes different ships in the class got different camo. That could be the case here. If anyone ever makes a separate Charleston skin, I think your great find could be used as a basis for it.

Thanks! It worked. It doesn't look like it draws on the stacks, but it's good enough so far. It does draw on the stacks; it's just really hard to see in that port's lighting. I squinted and finally made out the lines when comparing to the image on page 1.

I'm attempting to test whether the St. Louis skin will work on the Charleston now that I grabbed her via the Arsenal. (I'm from St. Louis and I hoard ships - had to have her; I do have the original as well). Can't find it via the unpacker... odd. It's not ASC004_St_Louis_1906_a.dds either (the 1916 variant is the Great White Fleet skin I use on the tech tree ship).
