  1. I wanted to call the rocket the V3. But my friends said no. What's wrong with calling it the Version 3? :Smile_trollface:

It's due to the fact that the V-3 (Vergeltungswaffen 3, or retaliatory/retribution weapon #3) in the V-weapon series is the name given to the V-3 super gun or "London Gun."

A set of artillery pieces that are designed to fire shells from Mimoyecques, France, at London at the rate of around two shells a minute per gun.

Thankfully the original project ended in failure due to issues with the guns, and the bombardment of the site by the RAF.

In the end, two of the guns were used in 1945 to bombard the city of Luxembourg (which was just liberated by the allies at the time), with 183 shells fired in total with 142 of the shells hitting the city limits (44 were confirmed hits) resulting in casualties of 10 dead, and 35 wounded.

I wanted to call it the V3 for a meme. I was fully aware of what the V stood for in two.

The joke was that when we are asked by the news what this rockets name is, we will say V3 and the news being what it is will say it as such. While the people who know history will get a good laugh out if it.
