How many times have I have been blasting away at a ship, and swore that I had hit it a hundred times, and discover I had zero hits.  Well, there is a setting that tells you immediately whether each individual shot was a hit.  This has helped me to improve my aiming accuracy.

Things I've learned.

Most players don't pay attention to the mini map

Most players don't pay attention to anything outside their current view period.

Most players don't know what an intercept course is never mind how to use it.

(Hint, it's not pointing your ships nose at the enemy ship)

Most people follow the lemming train to the point that they can get picked off by one or two players following the lemming train.

Watch the replays on youtube == you will see the player constantly moving the mouse and checking all directions.  I forget to do this, and I get killed by someone behind me or, there are many enemy ships in one direction, someone in another direction kills me.

Look completely around you frequently, and watch the minimap for everyone around you.

I'm at about the 200 game mark myself. The main thing I've learned is that if there is any way on earth it's possible that a friendly can change course, speed, or otherwise redirect his ship in order to put himself directly in the path of a salvo of torpedoes I launched at least 60 seconds ago, he will surely do exactly that.

Only torps?  I am shooting at red, and one of my team mates crosses directly in front of me, OR even rams me, and gets a full salvo == 600 damage.

Of course, it goes against me.

In my first few games I have learned only 1 thing. Tier 3 BBs are underrated.

No matter what level you play at, there always a [edited]player. Just had a game, where my Kiev is in the small space between islands. I knew torpedoes had been fired at me, so I back out and ram into a Fiji, this player backs up and gets out of the way of the torpedoes and I get sunk. This jerk did not understand that I was mad about it, he saw me sink.
