Hi, I tried to play this morning, and the game started updating as usual on patch day. But this time, it gets to 11% (every time) of "Extracting update" then crashes, giving me a "Critical Error, Unable to extract updates, The application cannot continue, For details see log file". I'm playing on an I7 system with a fresh windows 10 load. Any ideas other than reinstalling everything?

Worked fine for me.  Might you have a picky antivirus or antimalware?

You look at log file?

Nothing on antivirus wise, and nothing that it has not been played through for weeks. When I go into the WoWS folder(s) none of the various logfiles seem to have anything listed at all for today's date. The 18th is the last entry anywhere.

And did you run the launcher as admin?

After another look I just found this:

22/12/2015 12:20:55    User close the application
22/12/2015 12:20:55    Stop

Is there a way to just re-download the patch via the launcher?

Some have extracted files manually one by one before.

Cyclic redundancy check can be a drive issue.  Might google that up and diagnose.

Might just be a corrupted download file.

File a ticket with support if you can't figure it out bro.

Hold on.  Did you have mods installed?

If not this might be of value. http://thedailybuggl...r-file-510.html

If so.  Good luck with your issue.

Other people on the network complained about a few hiccups in the speed of their internet around that time. I'm guessing it's a bad file. Star Trek Online patched and updated just fine 10 minutes before this. It looks like I'm reinstalling the game...sigh

 Thanks

You might try that corrupted rar repair fix.  Out of my league.

Your welcome.

You don't have to reinstall the game you can just go into the update folder and delete the recent update.  (I think)

No, Zero mods. I'll try that first.

OK, Problem solved.

First thing I did was delete everything with today's date in the update folder, then ran the launcher. It downloaded the whole patch then ran, and got stuck with the same error as before at 43%. This time I deleted only the 3gb patch file and re downloaded. It resumed at 43% this time, and finally installed correctly.

Again Thx,

Happy Holidays

ok so I woke up this morning and Had this Issue Launcher would hit 6% then freeze and give me  a "Critical Error Danger Will Robinson" bullcrap message I surfed the forums for hours till I found above post and it fixed my issue. I tried DNS, Antivirus, changed some 3 to a 2, everything I saw to try then this is what worked deleted everything in any update file with todays date and re-launched patcher and Poofy worked like a champ.     Stay Awesome Bro
