I think I found and easter egg in WoWs. In the Naval Base Port look select a Battleship and look toward its stern [starboard side] at the top of the building behind it. There you will find a light that is transmitting a short message in morse code.
I think it goes like this: -….--.-.-…-.-.-
No spaces for letters and the pattern repeats. Anyone want to help me figure it out?

Possible First letters:

B -...

D -..

N -.

T -

I am starting by exploring the possible "B" starts.

Attached is a Word Doc with this info in it and a table of Morse/Alphabet conversions.

Good luck! Please post discoveries and updates on this thread.

First letter is clearly a "B" and I think I cracked the code, it seems to be a subliminal message.

Spoiler

Well it doesnt start with B,,,Next letter would be either a G, M, Q, Z, T, none of which would follow a B

I get:

E  .

A  .-

W .--

as the only possible letters to follow 'B'.

Since after you account for 'B' you are left with: .--.-.-...-.-.-

If it starts with a D, 2nd letter could only be an A or E.

I had not. But I started this thread for things like this.

I haven't had time to do much more with this yet. Nor do I speak any Russian. If you do please feel free to take a stab at a Russian translation.

The message reads:  T 4 T A A V A A

.....and the letters are as follows:-

Dah = T

Dit-dit-dit-dit-dah = 4

Dah = T

Dit-dah = A

Dit-dah = A

Dit-dit-dit-dah = V

Dit-dah = A

Dit-dah = A.

I was having trouble determining the spacing that distinguished the individual letters...are you confident that this is the correct spacing?        -   ....-   -   .-   .-   ...-   .-   .-

Well, although a bit rusty on my Morse (and CW usage) I was able to read it after a couple of passes.

But yes, the spacing between letters appears to be correct and in accordance with the guidelines for Morse signalling...., as is the spacing between the dits & dahs.

But having said that....if the Russian sending the message isn't familiar with the conventions then I may be totally incorrect! :)

I tried that in the "Redeem Code" section, just as a thought...

It is not a Wargaming Code, for anyone who was wondering.

"Heresy!"

Great! Thanks for the help! Now to figure out if this is just random gibberish or if it has meaning....

Maybe it's a cryptic "Thanks for the ? and ? ? ? "
