Your Ideal Event/Mission?

It seems like every time there is a new event, like the Clash of the Elements, players come out to the forum to complain they don't like it.

I know, not every event will cater to all people, but it seems like people are complaining to complain.  I've been around WoWS for a while, not a beta tester, but pretty close to when it came out and have been active both in game and forum.

Every time there is a new event/mission people complain about it.  Either its too hard, or too easy, takes too long, too short, reward isn't worth it, etc.

So here is my question, what is your ideal event/mission WG could do which would make you excited about playing the game?

PVE mode similar to pretty much anything to missions in an offline game.

 

See the Battlestations series, or Halloween event.

 

To relieve the flow of salt WG's way, they either need to pit us against bot enemies, or ourselves (see current fire/ice event).

Did you read some of the posts? An average player is going to have to play 40+ games per day in order to achieve the goal.


 

The event is literally harder than ranked for the vast majority of players.


 

I got to play the pearl mission which was great fun and I got my Kami. But if I didn't have it, I would say that the bar is set so high as to make it impossible for virtually all the player base from getting the ship.


 

I'm shooting for a speed boost extender for 175 coins. Seems reasonable.


 

As for the complaining, I think it's valid.


 

My ideal event would be one where everyone could participate and achieve the goals.

I like the format for this mission a lot. There is a bit of competitiveness with the choice of teams, but the choice doesn't really affect any major rewards. Most all the rewards come from personal performance, and that is great. The part that I really don't like about this mission is that WG wants us to work a second full time job for 3 weeks to get a $13 ship. Even if it is a broken OP ship, it's still not worth all that time and effort. And to anyone that would counter with "just play the game and have fun", I wouldn't see playing this game every day, for at least 6 hours, for three weeks straight as fun, even if I were unemployed.

 

For me personally, this mission has already gotten me to play more than I usually do, but seeing as how at most I tend to only play a battle or two a day, that isn't saying much. Only time I'll usually play more than that is during events like the Graf Spee or the ARP missions, where I'm getting a lot of stuff at all sorts of internals, otherwise, I get driven up the wall by RNG and tomato players that are a major part of all WG titles.

While it should be a little more in depth then just logging in playing and *Bam* award, it shouldn't be punitive.  For me, personally, I'd like one tied into the personal award pop ups.  For instance, say there was a ship you started early on in your career that you didn't do too well with, either through lack of experience or game knowledge.

Hey, we see your stats have progressively improved but your numbers in the *Insert ship here* are low compared to your average.  Here's a 30% discount on that ship, buy it back, increase your *Insert stat* by *Insert Percentage* and get *insert reward*

 

If it's a DD maybe make it Torpedo hits or something.  Set it up into teams, BB, DD, CV and whichever does the best overall increase gets points for their team...  But I dunno just spitballing here. 

 

Barring that, I wish the events could be tied into historical missions in PVE or historical "What If".  Guadalcanal, Wake island...  Chase of the Bismarck where you try to escape.  Battle of the Philippine Sea, where if you come in on the Japanese side you try to prevent the Great Marinas turkey shoot.

I like hard events with a reward equal to the effort, though these should be run at the same time as easier events with like awards

Already have Pumpkin, Blueberry, and Pickle, so the event is kind of moot for me; I can seem though that the 'goal' does seem to be set rather high, (perhaps WoT Daily Mission planners are visiting WoWs? 'Daily Mission' in WoT are notoriously likely to be 'Unicums only need apply' level events...)

 

Ideal event/mission? Perhaps something where you could chose a 'historical battle' from a list in co-op mode, and if you have the qualifying ships, play that historical battle?

 

Denmark Strait, Battle of North Cape, First and Second Naval Battles of Guadacanal, Battle of the Eastern Solomons, Battle of Santa Cruz, Battle of the Coral Sea, Midway, etc...

 

Obviously you'll either be stuck with bot 'players' on your team in many cases, or you'll nead an entire 'team' of similarly-minded players to play some scenarios; great mode for clans to have more clan players per battle perhaps?

Actually, I like the idea of weekly missions.


 

Set 100 fires in a T4-8 ship.

Get 5 floods.

Kill 10 ships in a cruiser.


 

Those kinds of things that you can work toward similar to the pearl missions. It would also be interesting to have a coop only event. I'd love to get some people into a T8-10 match who never play coop. Hee hee. That would be an eye-opener for some.

Especially when they find out bots mostly run bow on, and the AP many are so proud of is bouncing continuously off the bot's angled hulls?

Back during the Halloween special where we had to escort a vessel safely thru enemy waters.  That was a lot of fun.  I'd like to see that as a random game.

I'd like to see a "Le Mans"of wows.  Some sort of variant on he following; a 48 hour non-stop free  for all. 1 tier, lower preferably, (4 or 5 would be my choice), so there's plenty o' seals to club, Use any ship you want.  You fight until you are killed, then are locked out of the battle for 30 mins following which you can rejoin the fight.  Divisions are okay but if you compete as a division the damage of all ships in the division is averaged among the members,  Otherwise no teams.  Winner is determined by highest average damage per hour played, 4 hour minimum to qualify to win.  Bonuses for ship kills and planes shot down. Having chat on would be mandatory for all the epic whining over kill steals, etc...   I think it would be fun.  Think of the complaining on the boards it could generate too!  Popcorn stocks wold go through the roof!

 

Anyhow, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

The Halloween convoy escort mission was fun, they should make another event similar to that (maybe fighting against merchant raiders). There should also be more events commemorating historical sea battles.

Repeatable missions without a limit per day. Especially for camos, flags, commander xp in that order.
