Hey all,

Looking for advice from high tier, veteran US carrier players only.

Ive made the long struggle to Midway and have had fun, but have gone back to lower tiers to play with friends. No novice to carrier play by any means, but since patch 5.0 ive been having an increasingly hard time playing the US underdogs...

Im looking to learn more.

So how do I improve? How do you play? Not asking about loadouts, im asking specifically how have you been able to level the playing field against IJN equivalent CVs?  Id hate to think WG has rather, forced me to switch to IJN just to stay competitive...im already annoyed that the Saipan, Langley, and Bogue seem to be the only three US carriers worth playing since they can actually compete against IJN equivalents!

Any and all advice would be great. Videos would be really great!

Thanks all, have a good one.

-A struggling USN CV vet.

Ps. I was hoping 6.0 would help rebalance, but sadly I feel it did not...

I'm far and away not a high-tier CV player nor a vet of either line, but there are definitely things I still have yet to learn. Such as:

  • Working with planes outside map border
  • Dropping on guys on map border
  • Memorizing what AA builds each ship can have, and telling from their AA rating before battle
  • Manual DB drops on guys in smoke
  • Using DBs as scouts when they've dropped their bombs
  • Aggressively moving with the battle

As you've made it to T10, you are WAAAAAY farther along than I am, but that's the kind of thing I work on to be a little more effective.
